NIGEL.....
How does one gather blood clots in the lungs?? Then the real question....How does one get them out?????
Have a nice rest and get back with us real soon...without the blood clots....
Hugs from Elizabeth...
Elizabeth,
The blood clots usually originate in the veins of the legs, often caused by thrombophlebitis, then they break loose, enter the right side of the heart through the right atrium, pass into the right ventricle, then flow into the pulmonary artery where they lodge and block blood-flow to the left side of the heart. This is an extremely dangerous condition that frequently requires extensive surgery and constant monitoring.
If caught in the early stages, anticoagulants are used to dissolve the clots and the patient is put on total bed rest for several days while being monitored.
