Out takes with my partner Jessie...This was recorded at Dave's studio on a Saturday morning..If I recall..it was SH101 for lefthand bass, and TR707 with custom patterns for drums...I think we used whatever Dave had set up for Rhodes (Casio)...No sequences , and no arranger...

All are gone now...including the girl and my one summer beard.. smile

Wow - memory lane .... back then, we actually thought those drums sounded good! LOL
That 707 ride cymbal sounds like bacon frying! Hahahahahahahaha......... glad we never knew better. In fact, there wasn't anything better except a live kit.

Dave,

That’s what I said about speakers, we don't know any better now our ears are gone, 40 years on, when did you have yours tested last, set your Kb on a good high pitch, pull out the 1ft only Hammond sound, shift up octave as high as it will go and the play the upper keys, if you can hear them all you are OK most people our age can't. If you have been subject to loud noise all your life your ears will be damaged, unless you wore ear defenders. Lots of band musicians have hearing damage, they just think there kb sounds good.

I had hearing aids fitted two years back and I didn't know, its freq loss not sound power loss, these are far different!

Dave , do you remember what the top keyboard, the rhodes sound came from? I thought it was a Casio..maybe it could have been a Juno2 I had, but I think we used your stuf to record on...

Jessie was sick that morning too...she was a trooper..BTW: you weren't to kind to her...with a dry mic... smile

It's great to have recordings like that ... we have some recordings of our band that I made on a cassette recorder back in the day ... only good for nostalgia, but great to have ...
BTW ... made me realize how old "Just the Way You Are" is ... still on the playlist though ... smile

HOW COOL!

Now, it's amazing that we actually played with that equipment and did a pretty good job, all things considered. I particularly liked the soft focus on the promo photo...something a lot of us did then and need more NOW!

Keep "rockin" Fran!

Hmmmm, Might have been a U-20. I don't remember using a Casio for Rhodes sounds.
