More and more products on the market, this is an Acer Iconia, I have just ordered the Jasper twist music bracket which will turn the tablet inwards, much better than the MPP.

I am still using my trusty (rusty ?) MPP. It may be long in the tooth but have no reason to change( that I know of).

For lyrics I am using the Kindle. I usually use my laptop for scrolling notes and lyrics with MidiNotate Composer or VanBasco.

I never was able to learn how to read the dots and play too. However, I can read guitar tabs, which I'm told is more difficult. In my case, I use an Acer Aspire1, which has a small, inconspicuous screen that my audiences rarely notice. It's used primarily for lyrics, and an occasional MIDI file using Van Basco.

I used to use sheets in the old days , i now use midi file with lyric and chord and sometimes i will use the score button , i find it is the best way to relate to your audience with out your nose in the music .

I use a couple of homemade fake-books (4 of them, actually)...probably about 800 songs in total.

I rarely read the music when playing, but if I don't have it, I really miss it...sort of a crutch I guess. I use a combination of memorizing and reading music, so, I guess it works for me.

All the tunes have the style used and the tempo at the top of the page....some even have several possible styles.

The first time I saw a buddy of mine drop his music pad reader device on the tile floor, and it no longer worked...ever, I was very content to remain using the old-fashioned but relatively unbreakable books. They have never let me down.

Sometimes, at least for me, "new" isn't always better.

After close to 50 years of accumulating lyrics/with chords (first handwritten, then typed, then finally on computer) plus fake books, sheet music, etc., my case of books became unmanageable.
My first laptop saved my back and my sanity. It took nearly a year to convert everything to computer, but now all my lyrics with chord changes are on there. They are on my laptop, two home pcs, and several external drives.
They are in Word format, text format and OO format.
One of the best things I ever did was to write down the lyrics and chords to every song I ever played (well almost).
Now with my android phone and laptop I have constant internet access and often download a song on the job and play it.
Of course then I have to go home and learn to play it right.
Probably 80 percent of the songs I do regularly I don't look at anything except the whites of their eyes, or other parts of their anatomies, depending on the visual excellence. Sometimes I pretend I'm looking at the keys because if I don't they think I'm not really playing.

I never said I could read music, I just look at the screen.

I'm accumulating quite a sizeable song book with just lyrics which I then try to commit to memory. Can eek out a lead sheet if I have to!

Don't seem to have trouble with chord changes. My primary learning tool is midi. If I can hear the melody, I can usually find the right chord.

I save a lot of money (Ipad, music books, etc) since I do not read music, I play by ear.
I just starting to sing a little, and what I do, I search the Lyrics in the net, copy an paste them into a text file,then it goes to my T4 Hd, I make the registration and I link the proper Txt file and I am done, nothing to carry other than the musical gear.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I prefer to have a lead in front of me, just in case... I get easily distrated -ADD?. Sometimes I might forget a chord, melody or lyric so it's nice to have a chart. I wish I was one of those guys that could play everything from memory....

Also like you Ian, I just have photo copies of the tunes I do in some notebooks. I know that's old school and I suposse I'll update to some sort of electronic notepad someday.
