Yes Lee, all can be accessed by your finger on the touch screen.

all features that you need while giging live are on ONE screen only.

I am using a HP TM2 with touch screen, Windows 7 x64
Things are moving with tablets with touch screens today.

Look at this model : http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Slate_EP121/

And this one will come soon too :

Hi Dan,
that's very interesting.

Dan, would you be able to do me a big favour. When you finally get this Song Chord feature up & running, could you record me a couple of midifiles. One based on SD1 SlowOrch style, just want the intro's & 1 variation & end. And one of my piano yammie styles. I can send style file. Just need to see how the midifile looks in my pc sequencer, unedited.

Yes, You can connect your Brainspawn forte vsti host with a virtual midi cable to one of the 3 midi outs of vArranger.

You can send program changes to select your forte scenes.

On vArranger there is special feature called SONG CHORDS, who allows you to select a style, enter chords, and export it to midifile (soon to be released this week). This is a very fast and easy way to create backing tracks, to be edited with your DAW.

Hi Dan,
basically because there's no demo version for users to try.

The fact that you now have the song to midifile function has renewed my interest in the software.
One Man Band has a similar function song , but it of course can't load Ketron Styles.

Because there's no actual Ketron style editor available ( one of the reason's I haven't bothered with ketron since my sd1 days), I assume the only way to create one's own styles &/or edit, would be in yamaha style format?
I use One Man Band for editing my yammie styles, but I wouldn't be able to use it for editing a Ketron style.
If your song to midifile function works as well as I would hope, I'd be able to convert the odd Ketron midifile across to Yamaha & edit it the way I want. Hence I'd like to see if it can do what I need.

Style editor will come on vArranger, but I think I will add a new vArranger style format for the editor.

Just post the styles here, and I will post a small midifile done with that style.

Note : the exported midifile will be different if you use a Ketron module, or GM, or GS, or XG sound module... so what type of export do you want?

Hi Dan,
thank you for doing those 2 midifiles for me.

Decided to go ahead & buy it.

One thing though, is it a download or do you ship the software??
I went thru the purchasing process, got to the end, printed my receipt, but go no further details on what happens next.

Thanks Dan,
got it.

Loaded it in, checking out the functions.

Great way to have a Ketron arranger without the huge price tag. haahaa

Hi LeeBoy,

Before to be the creator of the vArranger software, I am a giging musician since more than 10 years.
I am playing on a Ketron SD1 arranger.

When I play close to the house, it's ok, but when I had to take train or airplane, it was a lot of problems to travel with my SD1.

When Ketron released the SD2, I had the idea to replace my SD1 by a very compact and lightweight Ketron SD2+laptop

The sounds are almost the same. So I wanted to play ketron styles with the computer.

I searched over internet, and found LiveStyler Plus that I bought, because it was advertised like being able to play Ketron styles.

Unfortunately, the overall sound generated by LiveStyler + SD2 was not good to my ears. Compared to my SD1, it was not acceptable.

Live styler displays tons of options in it's menus, and I had problem understanding how everything is working.

Also the software was not stable on my laptop. (latency, crashes..)

My conclusion was : good idea, but sorry, I can't take the risk to take this for live gigs.

Maybe now Live Styler is improved? I don't know.

Then I started to develop the vArranger software.

I can more talk about my software than Live Styler that I don't really know too much.

My goal was to create a software :
- Easy to use
- Optimized for LIVE gigs
- The same logic as hardware arrangers
- A Graphical UI who takes advantages of big screens of the computers, with everything that you need always under your eyes and fingers
- Who sounds as good or better than hardware arrangers.
- Using the advantages of the today's computers (big memory, big cpu, easy editing than synths...)
- Adding some innovating features never found on any keyboards
- Flexibility (using many keyboards, and many sound sources)
- Full sounds and registrations saving

First, I was using it alone, but after I decided to sell it.

It was a very good idea, because every musician who joined the vArranger's community gave me it's ideas and needs, and I add them to every release of the software.

I also try to give to everyone a personal support and free updates.

You can read more informations here : http://www.varranger.fr/vforum/

By the way, LEE, what is your musical setup?
