Hi Guys, how much storage space do you really need for simply browsing and using UnRealbook? Can I get by with on 16gig?

If I'm going to DJ, I use my laptop and my 500gig hard disk.

I broke down today and decided that an iPad is just what's missing in my rig. I bought the 64 GB, and I plan to retire the laptop.

Cool Dave. What made you go for the 64g version?

You could have bought mine......the laptop is superior..all around, but for playback of mp3's..it is okay...

I have used my Ipad for over a year now on gigs to display my leadsheets. I bought the 64Gig version but have never come close to using all the memory available. For sure I could have done ok with the 32Gig version. I do not use the Ipad for anything else and do not have pictures videos stored on it.

I purchased the 64Gb version but if I had to do it all over again, I would have purchased the 32Gb one instead. Unless you plan to store lots of full length movies on it and gobs of audio music, the 32GB should be sufficient as with the iPad's wireless wifi ability to stream videos and music from your desktop PC/laptop, I don't need or want to store my entire MP3 music & video library on the iPad itself. I think Cloud storage & online internet streamed music linke Spotify make the need for massive storage on a media device a thing of the past now. Thinking about it more, I might even recommend saving even more $ and going with the 16GB model if you're mainly using it to display music, which are small files compared to relatively larger audio & Video files. - Scott

I totally agree with Deane on this. I also bought the 64gb iPad thinking more is better, & have been using it for all my lead sheets, using the unRealbook app, for over a year. I could of easily got by with a 32gb or even a 16gb iPad.

Well, I purchased the 16gig unit. If it's not enough storage, I'll give it to my daughter and get a larger one.

Now I can go grab some of those application Scott and Graham have been advocating.
