My repertoire continuously changes
to meet the evolving mood of both myself & my audiences, of which includes both
families and people of all ages, from young adult to seniors.
If you come to one of my one man band gigs today you'll probably hear my rendition of many of the following songs.
I perform these (sing & play, or play as an instrumental) live in auto-accompaniment arranger mode, and in addition to the terrific styles already available in my Tyros 4 KB, quite a few of the styles I use are song specific which I purchase online from D-o-o cool
Next year or next month, my core repertoire list will probably change. grin

I'm curious which ones of these songs other members here include in their core repertoire too, as well as discovering what other new songs people have recently added or suggest adding.

I consider myself primarily an arranger keyboard 'cover song' performance artist, and not a composer, so enjoy discovering & learning new songs & constantly updating my
repertoire to appeal to the variety of age group and venues I play.

Scott have you ever tried any Bobby Caldwell in your set? He is a real favorite of mine and I can imagine you singing and playing in his style.

Stuck On You is just one great song he does but he has so many.

Don't Lead Me On is another gem

And his classic hit Heart Of Mine

In the song Promised Land he moves into a style that is more reminiscent of Sting.

Great list Scott. You're giving me some good ideas for tunes that I'd like to add to my list- espcially 80's to present.

Here's the ones that I do from your list:

Quando Quando
Amor Amor
Moon Dance
What a Wonderfull World
Wonderful Tonight
Every Breath You Take
Your Song
On The Road Again
And I Love Her
Proud Mary
My Girl
Beyond The Sea
Ring of Fire
Sleep Walk
Route 66
As Time Goes By
In The Mood
Over the Rainbow

I try to expand my list and strugle to review and keep it memorized but I do have to pull out the charts more than I'd like. My memory is not too good but luckily I'm a pretty good reader.

I try to learn a tune or two a week- like Gary Diamond does. The last few weeks I learned :

Days of Wine and Roses
Neon Moon
Travin' Man
Chattanuga Choo Choo
Sweet Caroline
Morning (Claire Fisher)

Scott, that's good list, I play a lot of stuff that you do, recently, I just added "Come Monday", and "someday soon' to our repertoire, I imagine "Come Monday" should fit your style as well. How did u manage to pull out "Time is tight" with style? which style you use for that.

Bobby Caldwell is also a favourite of mine, still love "What u wont do for love, everytime I hear it.

Nigel, thanks for the suggestion about Bobby Caldwell's music. In addition to 'Stuck on You', his terrific classic hit single: "What You Won't Do For Love" looks to be another one I may consider learning now. cool

Hi Paul (Montunoman), thanks for your input. I especially like the song "Morning" that you're learning by Claire Fischer. That one sounds ideal for your Latin jazz style genre specialty. cool

Hi Ty (Shade of Pale): You and I definitely share some song performance similarities. Though I haven't played it much recently, Buffet's "Come Monday" is in my repertoire too, so perhaps it's time to bring it back again, especially because it includes San Francisco in the lyric. grin The Judy Collins version of "Someday Soon" is beautiful, and a song I have wanted to include, but figured it might be too difficult to pull off solo rewriting the lyric to come from a guy's perspective. I especially love the pedal steel on that song played by no other than the pedal steel master Buddy Emmons. Ty, I'd love to hear your duo rendition (with female vocalist?) of this terrific song. Thanks also for reminding me about Van Morrison's Tupelo Honey. There is more than a ton of wonderful songs I still would love to learn and play. I hope I live long enough to learn them all.

see file attachment. smile

GammaCm: Do you include "I Love This Bar" in your perf repertoire. Because I no longer perform in bars any more (thank goodness), though it's certainly a catchy song, I doubt I'll be adding this one myself. smile

Anybody care to add to this thread? keys
