Two of my favorite subjects (golf and music) now crammed into one thread... LOL!

I remember when American Airlines got their first 747's and had a piano lounge on the upper deck. Nice touch. On one trip to Hawaii, we were astounded when Chi Chi Rodriguez joined us in the lounge and entertained us with some of his tall tales.

Yes Don, the "Cup" was an interesting series of matches yesterday and the course was both... beautiful and wicked. Those greens looked so slick. Makes me glad I didn't have to do any putting.

Russ, I hope your new gig is a fantastic and rewarding adventure. I understand your concern about being a "one trick pony" but... sometimes ya hafta "go with the flow" and I hear the greenbacks are really flowing in Dubai... LOL!

Thanks for sharing this interesting story with us... and for letting Mason "hi-jack" your thread just a little.

Sorry Russ, your thread was Masonized. It's in the 80s here, so getting ready for 12:30 tee time!
By the way, Russ, if you play golf with the head guy over there for goodness sake don't beat him.

You are a nasty, nasty man, Don Mason. Got down to 29 a couple nights ago, but today it might get to 50 down in the city--maybe 45 here. Another dreary day in Paradise. I betcha the Captain will be having a ball in his climate controlled aircraft and basking in the sunshine of the islands. smile smile smile

Cheers,

Gary cool

Hey,

Come on you guys have a bit of respect, talking golf when old Russ is trying to find a 110v plug and flex to fit a Boeing 757, look on the Maplin Webiste Russ. Hope it doesn't go bang when he plugs it in, or you will be grounded. rotf2

Don, they didn't get their fingers cut off, but the last two guys who did this job were both good friends of mine. They both died; not while playing but while having the job. One died in Dubai and the other died here in Lexington just before leaving for a trip to Dubai.

Frankly, this has me a little freaked out. But, like me, they were old "jazzers" who had "lots of miles on them".

The good thing is, I have a house job here in Lexington at a nice little upscale place frequented by the right people. I'll get someone to sub for me when I'm away. I think the room will be called RC's (my first and middle initials). I'll get a guarantee and a percentage of the take. The owners are great long-time friends whom I have worked for in the past at another restaurant they own.

Counting the one-nighters here in Lexington, I'll only be away from my house job about 2 1/2 months a year.

That will give me the home base I'm comfortable with.

Russ
