Nice job on the Lightfoot tune...pretty accurate style too.

I met Gord several times over the years...super guy and awesome writer. Red Shea was his guitar player for many years, a big part of Lightfoot's signature sound is credited to him.

A lot of people don't know that Gord studied jazz composition and orchestration for two years at Hollywood's Westlake College of Music in California.

Thanks for the great demo, Saswick.

Just as a curious addition, the last time I saw Lightfoot perform live(before his stomach illness), the pedal steel guitar parts were played by the keyboard player, using a first generation Yamaha DX-7.

When I talked with him, Mike Heffernan, after the show, he told me he based the "steel" sound on an electric piano patch, and that his DX-7 had been modified with a Grey Matter Response E! chip. This allowed bending of notes within the chord.

Man, did it sound like the real deal.

How does the pedal steel sound in the microArranger?
