Hello All,
I received my Midjay Plus. I can verify that registrations cannot be
transferred from the Midjay to the Midjay Plus – an issue that was
brought up on another forum. I also discovered that the Midjay Plus
does not handle the Sd1 styles very well – missing bass track or drum
track etc. Some of the SD1 styles that work okay just don't sound very good.

So, I was going to do my registrations with the internal Plus styles
only to discover that some of the styles that I used on my Midjay –
actually from the SD1 styles - were not there, e.g., jazz waltz. So
I'm thinking that since many of the Plus styles are shared with the
SD5, the Midjay Plus would better recognize the SD5 styles. I also
have the X1 and X9 styles but they also don't seem to be compatible
with the Midjay Plus. Would anyone be willing to share the internal
SD5 styles collection?
Ciao,
Jerry

The midijay plus is actually bassed off of the SD5 engine (with some modifications ofcourse), while the Midijay is based of off the XD9. Now, as technology progresses, it becomes harder and harder to maintain compatibility with older products (SD1/SD1Plus). For this reason , most of the SD1 series styles loaded into a Midijay are 'more' compatible that if loaded into the newer Midijay plus (that has newer sounds and newer drum loops). You will have to manually go in (press EDIT when the STYLE button is lite) and change the style parts (re-voice), including DRUM 2 (where the audio loops reside) to modify the style ... an issue that is avoided on the Midijay due to similarities with the SD-series.

As for registrations, no, they are not compatible (different sound engine, different operating system).

Thanks,

AJ

Thanks AJ.
So, I should have no problem using SD5 styles in the Plus?
Are there any other Ketron styles that are compatible with the Plus?
Ciao,
Jerry
