QUOTE AJ's post at http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum37/HTML/018445.html :

A little more information on AUDYA.
Chord recognition: Audya will be able to recognize all chords currently recognized within the current Ketron line up (e.g SD1Pus, SD5, ...) - including Rootless Chord recognition.

STYLES in general will be a mixture of both Midi and Audio. In some cases, more Audio (Drum 2, Chord, Bass) than others ... depending on the style. The reason we are still holding onto midi is to allow backward compatibility with previous Ketron styles (e.g. from Midijay), otherwise current Ketron customers will NOT be able to use 'older' styles in this product. Ofcoure using AUDIO in styles for live play is the revolution we are trying to create, so all out AUDIO styles will also be included, but due to the AUDIO, these styles will not be compatible with any other machine.

DESIGN: The project is still on and currently in QA. We want to make sure we release a product as complicated as AUDYA with a OS as stable as a rock. It should be out before Namm 2009.

One thing I`we been wondering about is: Does the Ketron keyboards uses the system,
like the Korg..OS 1,1...2,0 and so on,or is it like Yamaha, nothing at all.
Will buy an Audya,....

i will buy an AUDYA only if it's competitively priced with its competition

and only if Roland doesn't come out with something to top it

and only if its a BIG improvement over my exisiting XD3 module

would rather have an AUDYA module, as then i can use ANY keyboard to control it , even my featherlight 8lb Korg XD5 :-)

we just have to wait and see...

Ketron do release updates to the OS when any fixes or improvements are done
and make it downloadable at Ketrons website, well, at least they did for a
while.... SD5 i.e., no updates yet.

As of a few weeks ago, I was told the keyboard will be available in December with a street price now down at around $4800.00 US. I hope this information is correct!

i think a price of $4800, over 5 thousand $$ with tax...
will deter MANY people...i for one

i feel if they wanna sell lots of them they have to make it competitive, under $4 K

AJ, wow good news...

AJ, is it true the AUDYA will come to us next month? i heard mention of this..

and if so,,,

whay doesn't Ketron put some demos of these 95% new styles up on their site?

i would love to hear more than just a rhumba, or rock strumming demos.

can i hear some latin stuff? merengue, cumbia, salsa, bachata, bossa, soca, 8 beat, 16 beat,

what's the strategy in holding back demos?
i mean this keyboard is no surprise, as it's been shown at a few conventions already ???

AJ, one more thing...

due to the fact that this AUDYA will probably not be around for anyone to demo, meaning no dealer will carry, or shall i say VERY few dealers will carry, due to it's astronomical price...

could you URGE Ketron to put Demos on their site of ALL their styles...

how else is one to try hear the AUDYA ?
we just take people word that it great?

thanks
