Col, Your view of the KMA is refreshing, the activity in SynthZone has increased – Nice.

There is another view and that is the excitement that a new keyboard brings to an individuals who purchased one; or going to purchased one.

In the past I had to pay $1,600 to $3,300 for the excitement that a new keyboard brings; I just paid under $400 for a new keyboard which will bring much of the same excitement; it’s a new toy PLUS.

While the KMA is great vallue for its money, its still repackaged 10 year old technollogie. I dont get the fuzz about it, it sure is great vallue for the buck, but my fingers dont really fit them keys.

What makes me curious, Bachus, is that the PA-50SD (which the microArranger is based on) didn't hardly cause a blip on the radar, even when new, and has never been discussed to this extent on SZ.

I think it's simply a cheap thrill...and a small one at that.

They should have released this as an Ipad app... would have worked just as well with any Master keyboard or midisetup...

It only shows how far the Arranger market moved forward over the last 10 years.

It is the novelty, of the size and the real functionality of the Micro..based on Korg's most popular model ..PA-80.....Sure the PA50sd is identical and more playable...but then you have a dozen more models to consider, in the same range....(boring)...

Maybe if Yamaha released a Tyros3 in a Micro size and priced at $500...I would buy one and kept it more than the 3 days I had the Tyros3...Talk about wanting to dump a instrument...

Yes, it is a novelty, Fran, and as you said in other posts, the sound is just"okay".

If it works for your purposes, then you have spent your money well.

Personally, I've got all that I'll ever need in the Tyros4, and have no need of novelties at the moment.

Seriously Fran, I really doubt if Roland would release a G-70 in micro size and price it at $500, any more than Yamaha would do the same with a Tyros3.

It was very amusing, however, to watch you (and perhaps Donny) do the turnabout and pull the "successful" KMA from ebay.

And yes, we can all find purposes for seemingly useless things...even a Mediastation could still be used as a paperweight.

PS...An instrument that is "more playable" works better for me...your mileage may vary.

Ian, maybe you missed my post about my grandkids and the Micro..I have many reasons for doing things my way....Do you have grandchildren?
