As you can read elsewhere here only this weekend have I been able to have a first try on the Micro myself. I am not going to repeat all the arguments pro and against that have been put forward thus far.
I assume that those who will get one or hang on to it will amplify it adequately either thru their main keyboard or thru a set of monitors.

However for those who want to keep it really Micro ( see also Saswick's thread about the ultimate micro set up) a worthwile suggestion.
At home I use the Creative Gigaworks T10 speaker set. A treat both in looks and in sound, and.............dead cheap. Alternatively their is the T20 even better.....
We hooked up the Micro to the T10 speakerset and it sounded absolutely great. I hasten to add that the internal speaker/amplificiation set is pretty lousy to put it mildly. Still for the price you guys in the USA are paying it remains a steal. Here in Europe it retails for the equivalent of 640 dollars, and that is the cheapest you can get. I still think that anyone in the States with no Korg in his set up and at the prices you are paying is well advised to give it a try.

regards,
John Smies

Thanks John,

Interesting...they seem capable, I wonder about the wattage?
Have you tried it paired with your PSR-3000?

Anyone have any other similar suggestions, although in that price range, it may be hard to find.

Not gonna get much bass with those speakers without a sub.
Cheap is not an option when it comes to speakers & sound IMO..

Donny,

Bass response from these Creatives is astounding. Naturally it would not do for a gig, but I am talking about amplificaction at home. These Creatives whether T10 or T20 do the Korg Micro truly justice. When I ran my own resources thru them all of my previous programming as well as my musical recordings ( and they were many) came flooding back. All I am saying is that these less than 50 bucks speakers do full justice to the very good basic sound of the Micro.

Larry,

I have not, I amplify the PSR300 thru my Korg PA800 and that sounds great. I will give the PSR a try though with these T10 speakers and let you know. Shame you passed on the Micro, I still think it is a terrific buy.
And in time Bernie may corroborate my opinions....

regards,
John Smies

I'm finding my smaller Logitech Z-2300 a terrific sounding
portable 2.1 PA for my microARRANGER and delivers plenty of power & bass punch to cover a 'relatively' large space.
I realize the Z-2300 is now discontinued, but
wondering if this Logitech Z623 (or another Z series model)
might be the current equivalent or improved(?) Z-2300 replacement?
Anybody know?

I have two sets of Logitech Z2200s and one Z5500. They are really hard to beat. I've played parties up to 75 people with the 2200s. Not sure what the current model is. They also have wonderful customer support.
I have two of those wire music stands with the tops converted to be holders for the satellites. I think Gary Diamond made them.
I keep a complete system in a duffel bag on wheels ready for backup use or for when I need a second pa.

If you could get a set of Logitech Z-2300's (there must be some still in stores) you sure couldn't go wrong.

Absolutely one of the best bang for the buck systems out there, with excellent sound.

Yep, it works very well for games too...I have my PS2 and Gran Turismo 4 pumped through a set of Z-2300's, plus I have another set that I use on the Tyros4.

A killer, and versatile, system.

Hey Don, want to sell a set?

Like Scott,I also would like to know the replacement for the Logitech z-2300.

And I think John's Creative Gigaworks T-10 speaker set recommendation for the micro would be a nice "step up" for the onboard speakers, especially for home use. They have great ratings on Amazon, but mostly reviewed by Computer Users.
But I agree with Donny, a sub woofer is hard to duplicate in a 2 speaker set.

...still looking

Hi Scott,

I contacted Logitech and the rep claimed the replacement for the Z-2300 2.1 is your above mentioned Z-623, which seems logical, with nearly the same specs, and the same amount of punch at 200 watts. Not a bad price either Amazon price $130 smirk

The z-2300, although discontinued, Amazon has one for sale at $450 . I'll pass on that. cry

Larry,

I am not familiar with the Logitechs. The Creatives T10 and T20 have no subwoofer which may seem an omission. But believe you me you can do without them. However I was not talking volume here but quality.
If you play the Micro in your livingroom by itself it sucks. If you connect them to e.g. these Creatives it completely comes to life and delivers.
Not in volume ( although that too is better) but in quality................
And considering the price and size it is a steal to match.

regards.
John

Some guys, including myself use(d) the Roland CM30's in tandem for a great stereo sound. I've since moved to the Powerwerks(Kustom)PW50 amps. They sound great also, and now they are sporting a small sub to go with them. For those wanting more, they sell the PW100 series also.

I have 2 Logitech 2100s "now 2300" systems. I use one set for my home practice room and I carry another set in a large duffle bag for small nursing home type jobs. They work well and have been discussed at length here on the forum. They are a little lite in the mids but some eq will correct most of that. There are many on this forum that say these "computer speakers" will never work but they have never used them.
