So was MJ (according to folks), but he is not top 50 as a vocalist either...
Musical genius?,, not in my book..gershwin, Porter, Mercer , Kern, Kahn..and a dozen more from that era...They were true musical genius.....The latter Pop artist were dependent on repetition beats, hooks, and appearance...and as one dimensional as they could be.....
I am not sure, music will ever be at the level of the 40's..in all genres...

Like many of us here...we have been around the many changes in music and we have comparisons and understandings....that a young generation can not appreciate..
