1. Bruno should have opened and Bruce should have watched
2. "Amen" to the Foo Fighters for doing it all by hand and heart
3. Adele's "Unique" gift is gone. She has a new singing voice,(and NEEDS a new talking voice) but without that breathy, scratchy sound that was apparently hurting her. Pity ... I predict that she blends into the masses of female singers now .... and that "snot" comment - well, she's young.
4. Gaga looked ridiculous
5. The exorcism number was scary, and not in a good way
6. The overall lights and staging was the best I've ever seen at an award show. For what it was - it was pretty entertaining - I even liked the dub-step stuff that Deadmau5 (sp??)was cranking out on the tables.

I loved parts of the show, including Paul McCartny. I'm busy trying to learn Valentine right now.
I was never a big Taylor Swift fan, but I thought she was terrific.
The rap, electronic and devil stuff, I fast-forwarded through. LOVE MY DVR. Were there commercials? smile
I thought Bruno Mars band did a great job. I didn't even know who he was. He sure is purty too.
Alecia Keys was really good.
As Dave alluded to, Adele had surgery on her throat to remove polyps and she doesn't sound bluesy any more, but I still liked her a lot.
I dug the guitar jam at the end, mainly because they were having so much fun and because the drummer was terrific.
I felt sorry for one of my heroes, Glen Campbell.
Tony Bennett was inspiring and he meshed well with Carrie Underwood.
I was a little disappointed that, once again, my nomination was lost in the email.

I agree on some, disagree on others, but that's what makes us unique:
Chris Brown was awesome - the stage/lighting for that number as UD states was amazing
I thought Bonnie Raitt left Alica Keys in the dust on the tribute to Etta James
Jennifer Hudson did a fantastic job on "I will always Love you"
Beach Boys tribute was awesome, they can still rock.
Paul McCartney should stick with rock 'n roll, Standards are not his thing!
Nice mix of hip hop and country.
Taylor Swift got a standing ovation and she couldn't figure out why?
Katy Perry Bombed - her song was a snoozer.
Bruno Mars was probably the best number of the night - LOVED IT!
Rihanna and Coldplay....Really??
Foo Fighters .... not bad!

Bruno Mars Stole The Show with his James Brown stuff
Rihanna is... well... WOW!
The Beach Boys look really old
Not one of the "Boss's" best performances
Addell did a fantastic Whitney Houston tribute
The James Brown set was off the charts.
Country Music is not Country Music anymore.
Overall a fun time 8 out of 10 stars

They had me at the opening with Bruno Mars. Slammin !!!
He should have closed instead of that teriible psuedo club music set at the end. Had to laugh at the DJ trying to look busy turning two dials, like he was really effecting the music.

I love Adele. No airs and graces. Straight up cockney kid. If you get the chance, watch her 'Live at the Albert Hall' DVD.

Oh yeah, and the Grammy's, what was that utter garbage at the end with that quasi-human sacrifice rap thing, if that's what it was? What a load.

This is generally seen as one of the best Grammy performances ever. Someone that writes her own music and then sings it so fantastically will never be forgotten.

I thought it was interesting that Miss Swift played an instrument with a banjo body and a guitar neck. I always called it a "cheater" banjo. I play one on lots of Dixeland jobs...never been caught yet. (LOL).

I noticed that someone in her band was playing one on TV last year.

Not a big fan. She plays "banjo" as poorly as she does guitar.
Seems like an OK kid, though.

The Foo Fighter acceptance speech was really touching.

The Glen Campbell tribute made me very sad...as close as I have been to Alzheimer's the last 15 years...an AWFUL disease. At least he's facing it like a man, and will do a lot for the recognition of the need for major work on a cure or at least prevention methodology.

Bruno is a really cool, talented kid.

Adele never did anything for me; pre or post surgery.

High production values for TV.

I'm not a Foo Fighter fan of at all but I'm glad they said what they said.

It was definitely one of the better grammy award nights I've seen in quite a while.
In spite of the terrible tragedy of losing Whitney,
the music community pulled together to deliver an outstanding show.
My only disappointment was that Bruno Mars,
though nominated for four (best album, best record, best song, best pop solo performance),
didn't take home a single one. Perhaps Next year will earn him a Grammy sweep.

The guitar jam at the end was fun to watch. The drummer was good also but was actually just doing what Ringo did 40 some years ago.

AMEN! More proof of just HOW GOOD Ringo was. Best damn drummer in the biz at the time. Some may have more technical chops, but as far as taste and "groove" - he was the absolute BEST Drummer for that band. (which, of course IS and will always be - the greatest band in the world)
Anyone else would have gotten in the way of the blend and harmony.

Joe Walsh was GREAT, as always; both on the nylon string and again on the jam at the end.
