Happy Valentines Day my fellow SZ members! I would like to share our humble attempt of the great classic "Besame Mucho" In many Spanish speaking countries February 14th is celebrated as the Día de San Valentin, but it's more commonly referred to as El Día del Amor y la Amistad, the "day of love and friendship." People commonly give flowers, candies and balloons to their romantic partners, but it's also a day to show appreciation for friends. I appreciate you guys so much!

Paul, I enjoyed your song. Best wishes to you and your family on 'El Día del Amor y la Amistad'. Also, congratulations on your recent Korg microArranger purchase from Donny. Welcome aboard the Korg Train !

Paul,
Good selection of style and lead, but I could barely hear your vocals. What I could hear, though, really sounded smooth. When I sing that song in Spanish it never comes out like I want it to sound. Of course, not speaking the language very well may have some bearing on it.
Happy Valentine's Day,
Gary

Thanks Gary, Scott, Telmo, and Donny for the kind words and constructive criticism. Also thank you to all the others that took the time to listen. Gary, I'm sure your version of "Besame Mucho" comes out just fine with your unique stamp on it. Have you ever heard Nat King Cole sing "Besame Mucho? His Spanish pronunciation is not good at all yet his version is one of the best.

This rendition has always been my favorite.
The version of Beseme Mucho I recorded on the Zoom H2 is pale by comparison, but that's OK, the ladies still love the way I sing it to them.
I'll really need to practice a lot to make my Spanish version sound as good as yours, Paul. Hell, I'm still working to perfect my version of Al De La in Italian. I'm gettin' close, but my hillbilly accent keeps messin' me up.
Thanks again for posting Paul,
Gary

Gotta' remember--I only play what's in my head--not what's on the sheets. And, of course, my hearing is shot to Hell, so that my also have some bearing on it.

getting old ain't for whimps I would say your doing just fine Mr Wizard......keep it up we need ya!!
Once the vocals came through the song was good, very good. Was the keyboard the KMA and if it was, was the style Lite Bossa.
Welcome to the KMA club
Regards
Col
Thank you Col. The keyboards used were a Tyros 2 and a GEM digital piano. My friend Jason played sax and I did some acoustic percussion at the the end. I hope to record some KMA stuff sometime soon.

Paul ... beautiful version ... as has been said, the vocals could have been more 'up front', but beautiful just the same ...
BTW ... have you heard a "Spanish" version by Nat King Cole? ... this is the only one I could find - great, but TOTALLY different, obviously: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eEZtyqHPI0
Thanks Russ, I will accept your strictly platonic "man hug" (LOL)
Tony, thanks for listening. Nat King Cole made an album of Spanish language songs. All the tunes on this album have become huge Latin standards. Check it out:
