How do I change Chrome to open mp3's with my choice of media player?

With IE. when I click on an MP3 (example Don Mason's recent MP3's http://donmasonmusic.com/Valentine2012/) I have a choice to open or save.

With Chrome, no choice, it opens another link and plays the MP3 with Quicktime (plug in). Is this a flaw with Chrome, or is there a way to force Chrome to at least open MP3'S with a media player of MY choice without having to first download it?

(Windows 7 64)

Larry:

Wish I had some good advice... but I've been reading so many negative things about Google and Chrome, I'd be very cautious about letting it on my machine. The same can be said for Microsoft's invasive and irritating "Bing." (Crosby must be turning over in his grave.)

Larry,

I stopped using Google Chrome because of other problems, but if I recall, you must go into your Media Player and select the type of files you wish it to play. If you are using Windows-7 click on your Media Player, then click on the Organize Tab and click on Options. When the options page opens click on the Network Tab, then select the options you need for the files to play. It was different, and much easier when I was using Windows XP-Pro.

Hope this helps,

Gary cool

Chrome is a basic browser with limited capabilities (Hence it operates faster than most browsers) so is not as flexible as IE or Firefox for example.

Click on Tools, (The spanner icon) options, extensions and you can choose (Or download) your default media player from there. (Don’t expect to find many Windows programs though)

To change default settings in Windows 7: Go into Control Panel, select View by Large or Small icons, (Upper Right) then choose the default programs icon where you will find all your settings.

Hope this helps
