I just ordered this beauty from our good friend Frank from audioworksCT Most of us know frank as a keyboard and pro audio guy. He's giving us all some amazing deals over the years on our gear. He is the nicest and most down to earth dealer in the music sales business.
A Lot of people here don't realize frank is now offering some of the finest and most unique guitars on the market. He aims to sell guitars you won't see at every other local guitar shop. My photo is by the Godin guitar company. It's called the Godin ACS SA-USB. It features a solid chambered maple Body with mahogany. It has nylon strings so their will be no feedback. It also has a 13 pin midi output to be used with Roland and Axom synth modules. It has a USB output and I'd totally midi ready for programs like garage band etc. It also takes the standard 1/4 in instrument. It is an absolute beauty. He carries the entire Godin Electric guitar Line and they are simply amazing.
He also carries Boulder Creek acoustics, Vox electrics and some other cool brands. His newest venture is Orange Amps, WOW is all i can say!!
If anyone has any questions about these guitar lines, I'd be happy to share my knowledge in helping you pick out something AMAZING!

Godin is the cool little secret for lots of players. I have a fretless bass, a nylon string Multiac, Two new jazz models (single and two pick-ups)and one or two others. They're made in Canada. There are lots of sub-brands owned by the same outfit.
Rory is currently playing one of the same double pick-up ones I play (it';s called a Kingpin). It's very close to an ES 175 at about 1/3rd of the price.
Only thing is-they don't gain in value. But at the price point they sell at, there is no question that they are a bargain.
If you saw the Tony Bennett special recently, his guitar player uses a Kingpin...the same on Rory and I have.
Congratulations on your purchase, Mikey. Heal up, and we'll get together to play guitar someday.

That would be Grey Sargent ... a wonderful guitarist from New England ... I saw him a number of years ago when Mike Renzi (piano) and Scott Hamilton (sax) did a concert in Providence with Grady tate on drums and a local bass player whose name escapes me ... Renzi and Hamilton went to school together in RI, but never performed together till that concert ... Here is Grey Sargent with Tony Bennett ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N_cv4X5gVY playing the song Lydia and I danced to at our wedding ...

Not sure that is a Kingpin he's playing. Looks like a Godin, though. a Kingpin has P-90's. that instrument has humbuckers. Of course, the change-out would be easy.

He did for a long time. May still, because, unlike conventional guitars, both the Yamaha and the Godin only have two knobs, instead of the 4 most jazz boxes have.

I just received a new Godin 5th Ave. Uptown. It's a 5th ave with 2 standard chrome humbucking pick ups and a bigsby Vibrato. The one I received is in a flame maple cherry finish and they also make it in black. It is one heck of a guitar for a moderate price.

Tony was that Bob Petteruti on bass? I never knew Renzi and Hamilton went to school together here.

It may have been ... I was incorrect about them going to school together - Renzi is 8 years older than Hamilton - but they were both born and raised in Providence ... Just part of the rich musical culture of this tiny state ...
