Very good, as usual! My only nit to this Louisiana boy's ears is you omitted the word "big" from "For tonight, we'll have big fun on the bayou." There's a world of difference between fun and big fun, my friend. Ol' Hank (Williams) knew it too well!

Of course, you can sing as you please, it's just a silly (yet truthful) comment.) I always loved how he wrote the word big in there. A genius writer!

Hank fooled around a lot with words in this song. "Tippy-to" instead of Thibodaux, Fountain-O for Fontainenot, for example. He mispronounced Bayou to be Buy-O, so it would rhyme with me oh my oh and Pirogue. He even said Jumbalaya rather than Jambalaya.
Almost forgot, Filly-gumbo? It's fillet Gumbo! Or as the Cajuns prounced it fee-lay.
He "borrowed" the melody from an old Cajun song named Grand Texas, but the words were definitely his own!
