Legendary Bassist Donald 'Duck' Dunn died yesterday (5/13/12)
at the age of 70. He will be greatly missed.

A genuine R&R pioneer. Wanted to meet him, but never got the chance. A part of the STAX studio band and a member of the MG's.

He was a real gem in the business we all enjoy.

I love all that old Stax/Volt stuff - Green Onions, etc. is burned in my brain circuitry. Memphis' equivalent of Motown's Funk Brothers. Duck Dunn, a master of his genre.

What a groovemaster he was. He played the bass on many of my favorite songs. He played with such passion and taste. Unbelievable. He's irreplaceable.

He always played the perfect part for the song. So sad to see him go. 70 is too young...
