....of charity scams, particularly those involving veterans. I watched a Special on this on AC360 (Anderson Cooper -CNN) and it was enough to turn your stomach. I don't know how these people can sleep at night. Although I encourage you to support organizations that help veterans, particularly wounded veterans, I urge you to check them out thoroughly before sending them any cash donations. I (and my wife) am involved with several veteran's organizations locally, and watching this expose' just made me really angry. Some of the ones highlighted were actually legitimate groups that had hired professional fund raising groups (the REAL culprits) who, in some cases, had charged the groups more than the amount they raised. In one case, the Fund Raising group had raised 56 million dollars, not one dime of which went to any veterans, and the Veterans group still owed them an additional 5 million in expenses. Like I said, how can these people sleep at night.
