Is anyone else having difficulty downloading from 4shared since they changed their format a few months ago?

http://www.4shared.com/

I used to be able to download "public domain" files and files that the poster wanted to share with others, such as:

http://www.4shared.com/file/ar9q6Hey/LATIN_BIGBAND_PAX2SET.html

I "signed up" and log in all right, but when I attempt to download the above "Latin_bigband" I get a message that says:

Sorry, the file link that you requested is not valid.
Reasons for this may include:

* Invalid link
* The file has been deleted because it was violating our Terms of user

This happens on everything I click on. What are my doing wrong? I never had this problem before the format change.

Hi Mark

Works fine for me, (Although the site is a bit slow) try clearing out all your cookies and temporary internet files, then restart your browser to see if this solves the problem.

I have downloaded and attached the file in the link below, just in case you still have problems.

Hope this helps

Bill

Hi Dan

No I don’t work for Wersi; however I am a Tech Geek, (Although I try to avoid mobile phones) and so I always go under the hood or perform a deep investigation when something new is introduced by a manufacture. (And you would be surprised just how much new stuff that comes out from manufactures that when you dig deeper is actually quite old)

Bill......thanks ever so much for that download. I've been trying to get it for weeks now since I bought my PA3x.

Yes, I've done both with the cookies....either kept them in there or cleared them out when they appear. "temp" files I always erase every few days.

I'm using Firefox. I tried it with Internet Explorer...that didn't work either.

No matter what file I try to access, I get the same message. Been going on for quite a while now since they changed the site.

Do you have any more suggestions? I really need to remedy this thing.

Mark

Hi Mark

If you are connected to the internet via a router, try unplugging it, leave it for 30s or so and then plug it back in.

Check your firewall and security settings as this can also block certain files from certain sites.

Try the Google Chrome Browser, as this seems to work on the odd site that that IE and Firefox doesn’t.

If the above fails, email your ISP as it may be something at their end.

Hope this helps

Hi Bill,

I'm not using a router, so that let's that out.

I'm using Kaspersky. I checked as much as I could on there. 4shared doesn't seem to be on the "blocked" listing

Google Chrome I'm trying to stay away from.....they collect too much info on you.

Contacted my ISP provider. They said it "wasn't them."

Anyway, I sent an email to the 4shared tech dept. They got back to me right away wanting to know in detail what's happening when I try to download?

I'll let you know if they can fix it for me.

Mark
