Greetings all, haven't been on here in ages... new job, new location, getting things done, but have a real problem and hopefully someone has an answer.

Right after my move here in July I bought both a Yammie P-95 and Korg Pa 500 to replace the boards I had to leave behind. I ordered through Sweetwater because I got a special financing deal. The P-95 came in within a week, but the PA 500 is still nowhere in sight and Sweetwater has already posted and cancelled two shipping dates for the Pa's to arrive and are now jsut saying any day now. Does anyone know if there are problems with Korg Italy and the shipping? Are the PA 500's just out of stock everywhere?

School starts here on Wednesday and I was hoping rto have my complete setup in my room by then, plus I've been asked to sit in with the worship team of the new church I've been going to and wanted the PA as well as P-95...

Signed,

Frustrated in Kansas

Jeff

I'm a Korg dealer, and I have had the PA500s on order for almost 5 months now, not sure what the problem is, but they did say they were expecting more in September.

That's says something for the demand of the Pa500.....best bang for the buck....in an arranger.

I talked to a sweetwater rep just yesterday about the same thing. He said he doesn't believe the date of "next week" will happen. Going Roland....

Whoa!!!! Better wait till you try the BK5..side by side.. smile

BK has better drums, better choirs ...scats missing from the PA 800 and I am sure the 500...

BK plays wav files , MP3s,....the PA500 can not install the optional MP3 card...

BK has 128 polyphonic compared to the 500's 80..

The Pa500 has a touch screen, but so dense to0 touch(again I am comparing to the 800)..

Get your butt over here so we can see how they compare...

grin

BK5 comes in on average less SSSS than the PA500 wink

There are a few things on my wish list..for the next BK keyboard....

A touch screen...like the PA500 smile Actually I would love the touch screen from the E-60..

76 keys..please.. grin

A dedicated button for upper one..

Add a manual bass button..

I have a great idea...bring back the E-60 with the media player in the BK5.....Add a mic input too...and it could be perfect..even the 27 pounds.. grin

Under $2,000...come on Roland..you already have the goods, and the price point is do-able.. clap

PA500 is made in China not Italy. PA3X, PA800 are made in Italy. Microarranger and PA500 come from China.

So I opened the box. I am desperately trying to get some of the styles and sounds to jump out at me but it's not happening. I have to run it into the Barbetta. I am hoping to spend more time before it goes back in the box. Fran- Any suggestions for a good big band sound?

I would pop in a decent set of headphones, and audition that way. Plus, listen with the Mastering Tools on, and off...

It's always best to find out what something sounds like BEFORE the compressor and EQ jazz it up.

Don't forget to give the OTS a whirl...

I'll give it the old college try. Needs work on the key velocity curves too.
