One guy uses two really cheapo Yamaha PSRs to replace his B3. One of them he plays left-hand bass, and the other organ sounds. I'm sure neither kb costs over $200.! Thing is, he sounds pretty good on them, relatively speaking. He usually has a sax player and drummer. DonM
Proving once again that it's the PLAYER, not the equipment. Diki, although I use just the Organ when playing out, at home I have it set up as follows: C1 (and PK7a) on bottom tier, VP770 on top, and BK7m on small stand on the side midi'ed to the vp770. I only use the 770 to trigger notes and just control the BK7m locally. I use the BK7m's instrument voices (especially piano) instead of the 770's voices simply because they sound better and there are way more of them. The VP-770 has many complimentary features for arranger players and they actually make a very nice, easy to control, combination. BTW, I have the FC7 sitting on the PK7a. Still, it's a relief when I'm on the gig with nothing but the organ to worry about. Makes me feel like the old days when the B3 was king. chas
