Hi all, today i called to Ketron Turkey and they said that;ketron italy says "there is no new voices and styles for audya...
i shocked....

i don't think that info is correct

Rob Mess. says himself on the Videos from Messe that there are new sounds, new styles,

so who's right? Ketron Turkey or Ketron Italy?

this news not from ketron Turkey..from Ketron Italy...came from Italy to Turkey..and from Turkey to me!!

I guess following will happen:

Ketron is now working on OS5 which will be released with Audya4 and Audya5 in July, August or September. Then we will get the new voices and the new styles.

Hoping I'm wrong.....

I agree with Joe0710.

I don't think that Ketron will release the new styles and new voices for current Audya users.
I think that Ketron is making all their bets on the new hardware, Audya4 and Audya5.
Sorry for the current Audya owners.

In the mean time.............potential customers get scare and don't buy Audya, or Audya4 or Audya5 and instead go to Korg (PA800-PA2x) or Yamaha (Tyros3, PSRS910).

Ketron have very promising technology, but a terrible and Un-reliable way to deliver it.

This is complete rubbish the new voices are due to be released, stop winding people up that's my job. I must still admit AJ and Frank have had the voices and styles or have they, I don't think they have even heard them live. I have.

half dozen?

all i remember from videos, was
a tweaked breathier sax,
a tweaked piano
a tweaked rhodes
a tweaked or new pad sound

4 sounds is what i heard,
is this why they call it OS4 :-)

to me they just added "noise" to the sounds
"noise" meaning breaths, key hits, etc.

and as far as styles, i heard an 8 beat i believe

can we know how many NEW voices/styles and what they are,

and are they NEW, by means of tweaking old?
or TOTALLY NEW waveforms?

I want that Ketron deliver on the OS4+New Voices+additional styles, but the way that they are doing it scare people from the product.

In then specification for Audya4 we can read:

That is what the people are expecting.

Is what I expect before a purchase any Audya.

Technically Audya has got OS4, at least that's what it reads on my startup screen We are only missing the new sounds - so okay maybe its just half an OS4 actually .
But I heard through the grapevine that due to the economical crisis, Ketron decided to copy the package to some spare floppy disks they had lying around – the size was apparently so huge that it took up app. 1000 discs! These have already been shipped overseas by carrier pigeons. Unfortunately some weird dust cloud coming in from Iceland sidetracked the pigeons – so who knows when to expect them?

No, i am not son of diki...I am just an Audya owner.. i had sd1 that i've used 7 years..i have ketron 1400 pa system..i mean i am not againist to Ketron...

Ok..i have an audya and i was wondering about the new voices and styles..and i made a phone call to Istanbul to Ketron Turkey..They said that;
"Necdet,we called to Italy and Italy said;there are no new voices and styles for audya...that's it...just i'd like to share with ketroners...

to be honest there are some new ins sounds (drum kits) for orieantal/ethnic music from Ketron Turkey and i got them...

Ok this is the story..short and clean...and finally as i wrote;i hope i am wrong...

and will delivered to all in one of these...

Also says "ready an a couple of weeks" or may be it was a couple of years.

even dual layer can only handle 8GB
and this update is supposedly 12GB

I have received the upgrade. Haven't installed yet, but I will most likely do so Thursday or Friday.
I want to have time to work with the new stuff and also have a fall-back plan if something goes wrong.

So far, so good. I've installed 4.0, deleted and replaced User and Factory styles, and now the Audya is loading the new sounds.
This will take about an hour and a half, so I'm going to play golf.

The files weren't essential to the upgrade, but I will be getting them tonight or tomorrow. They were the parameter files that assign names to the new sounds, so a few of them don't have the correct names, but no real problems.
I only finished the procedure about ten minutes ago, but I can tell you the new lead sounds are fantastic. There are numerous new guitars and pianos and Programs as well.
That's as far as I've gotten. I jammed for five minutes using several of the new guitar sounds.
I expect a long night tonight, but so far the wait was worth it.
BTW, the update including sounds and styles was 1.29 gigs.

No, OS4.0 and the new sounds and styles were included in the 1.29 gigs. However, I haven't found any new styles yet. I'm investigating that now.
The new sounds are definitely there.

When you got the dvd or stick did you get the proper loading procedure with it, I don't think you can just load the files on just like that, that's why you got the funnies. Maybe you have the script, the official upgrade will have it. I don't know who started the 12Gb story maybe the points in the wrong place 1.2Gb my maths are crap too!

the 12gb is most likely all the "old" or shall i say original audio loops

this DVD seems to be ONLY new stuff, OS4, new audio loops, new styles, new sounds etc..,

so in order to use this DVD you have to have OS3 installed,
because it ONLY adds to it

this is how I see it.

there's no way everything inside AUDYA is only 1.2 GB

but AJ/Ketron would know best.

OK copy that Don re only the new styles sounds etc, however i'm still struggling with the "why isn't it out yet with the installer from Ketron, unless there are still problems with it. The sugestion that its hard to serve that amount of memory is absurd in today speak, so come on Ketron please deliver so we can get all the good news flowing.

I still think Ketron should deliver OS4 as standalone
not as an update
on 2 dual layer DVD's

you should then run DVD
all your user sounds. User styles get backed up automatically to computer
then erases your entire audya HD
then loads ENTIRE new OS from scratch
then your user sounds, user styles are loaded back to AUDYA

Well there are new styles there, and most of the older ones have been re-worked, some are very subtle, some more noticeable. The transitions are smoother and the styles better balanced. You can go from one style directly to another without stopping and with no audio glitches.
There are new overall e.q. presets. Instead of the four or five blank e.q. slots, there are named presets, all of which can be edited and saved. A good change.
I am having to redo almost all my registrations. I had a lot of them calling up right-hand lead sounds that were Programs or from my custom Voice List. Since all the Programs and Voice Lists are changed because of the new sounds, I have to load each registration, change the sound (in most cases) and resave. No big deal, but with a couple hundred registrations, it takes a little while. I'm about half finished and want to use it tonight, so I have work to do.
I have not yet had time to explore and listen to all the styles.
I am extremely pleased with the new OS and the sounds.
I am sort of a crashtest dummy to prepare the new package for distribution.

If you get Frank to get you a set of OS4 backup disk, then this is all you need if things went wrong OS4 is the whole software you don't need anything earlier, and also the new samples and styles, it's a little easier now, did the smaples come on DVD.

Everything went fine tonight. Other than the lead sounds there isn't an amazing difference, but it's just an overall better balance. I haven't worked with the e.q.s any. Don't know if it's necessary. I will listen to recordings tomorrow, when my ears have recovered from tonight.
