I haven't had a Yamaha in a while. I may check out the 950 for my backup keyboard IF it has the new drums that Tyros 4 has.
The main two things that have kept me from Yamaha are the drums and the vocal harmonizer. Both seem to have been improved now.

Well, unfortunately people still buy thinking new one will make them better musician.That's why Yamaha or Korg don't need to change anything.There is no need for that.To put 64mb or 96mb ram is a joke at this age.With Yamaha you can't load more than one expansion if you want too.I believe the same will go with Korg too.Now days we spend more time learning new keyboard and arranging new settings then we do learning new songs etc..And still sounding almost the same.

yep Larry...truthfully the only reason I ordered one is the Mp3 player & it's Black.. I'm sure I can make it sound just as great as my Pa500

I think some people here have forgotten that this is the FIRST PSR that isn't simply trickled down technology from the Tyros's.

The audio drums, the synced .wav's as multipads is completely NEW. These are hardly 'minor' new features!

Particularly the .wav multipad feature (as you WILL be easily able to add your own content with little to no load time) is potentially a complete game changer. The variety of percussion, breakbeat and synth loops out there is staggering. Being able to add them to your performance pushes this arranger into totally new ground, especially if you are into newer music.

I totally agree Diki.BUT,how much material can you really put in 64mb.And if you buy one of the expansions there is nothing left.That is what kept me from buying A2000.You can load only one.Why not 256mb or 512 or even more.At least keep it as an option for people if they want to.Now days that is not a big stretch.

Diki is talking about the Multipads. You are talking about the flash expansion. The flash expansion sucks. No doubt about it. Yamaha will come out with one good Expansion Pack that I'll buy, and that will add a few more voices to the keyboard, but then I'll be frustrated that I can't add another one.

The multipads sound cool. Currently, I seldom use the multipads. Only several times per performance. But I'm open to all kinds of loopy ideas.

Well if you are going to use samples for multipads, they still have to go into ram memory.

That's not true. The .wav multipads are triggered FROM THE USB
it's like your playing it off the usb. you don't need or use RAM for that....

In that case, that is one thing that's good.They should all be triggered from usb .

I think you are confusing the memory for Voice expansion with the memory for multipad .WAV's.

The multipad audio is read directly from the USB stick, I believe... Whether there is an upper limit, I am not sure, but 16bit/44.1k uses 10.1 mb per minute or 30.3 mb per 3 minute song, so even if it WAS a 64MB limit, that's about six MINUTES of loops!
