I'm confused with the Yamaha PSR-S950 recall for a firmware update. In a previous thread, George Kay posted:
I spoke with Steve Demming at Yamaha yesterday because he called wanting me to return my store unit for replacement due to a firmware update. I asked him what the update does and he hadn't a chance to find out yet. I'm hoping it might allow for recording with audio styles but I will have to wait to find out.
A few questions:
Why was there a firmware recall? And why was it necessary to send the keyboard back to Yamaha?
What changes are made with the firmware update? (that only Yamaha can do)
How do we know if the current keyboards already out the Yamaha factory door need to be sent back for a firmware update?
Factory returned firmware updates, early software updates, reported display problems. Seems like Yamaha may have been too quick to release this keyboard, but at least they are fixing...something... but what?
I've decided to wait to make a purchasing decision until this is cleared up.
