Not selling, but sharing in public is not to make a copy for personal use or
backup.
Regarding copyrights, I think you'll find quite a lot about it if you search
SZ fora, not a new topic here.
As long as those midis are Ketron salesware and branded as well as original
lyrics and music most probably are written/composed by anyone the copyright
rules are there to protect their interests/income.

Btw,
don't be surpriced if midifiles are "tagged" with copyright info, because
genuine files usually are.
Ketron have a midifile song library for sale, been there for years.
If they use a 3rd party to produce etc, and put it into keyboard HD as a
extra bonus for customers, it don't mean the copyright is not valid.

Jonny,

No Italian Cosa Nostra hit man is going to turn up on the doors step with a violin case and empty a magazine into them if you copy the files, Jonny who do you know who plays KB has ever had their collar felt for copying files, if files where that expensive to make they would be dongle protected that’s how worried the authors are about their work. This one will bump along the bottom until I die, which ever comes sooner, Audya updates or the Cosa Nostra hit man.

I telephoned performing rights about midi files a couple of months ago, I wanted to supply some midi files free of charge with a product line. they put me in touch with a government department that handles copyright - I forget who now as I am at home.

The woman was very helpful and said the media or file format makes no difference, wether its a printed music sheet, an MP3 file or a MIDI file, the same laws apply. If you want to distribute or share a copy protected file you have to have permission to do so and this normally means buying a license.

Ketron will pay royalties on every midi file (except traditional) they distribute. Thats why they are not free to download.

openly offering to share files on a public forum is leaving yourselves wide open...don't do it.

If i were you i would go back and edit your messages.
