Your special extra ordinary copy protection on your styles are beginning to irritate me to the extreme!!! I cannot save any changes to your styles to my registries like I'm used to. Instead, I have to save the changes to the style first, & only then to my registries. Hell, how can I remember if I've already used the style for another song before when I save the new changes...

I made a backup of your styles initially, but now, to my UTTER AMAZEMENT, find that your new styles were not also copied there. I paid for them!!!

Please, I've now stuffed up your "Slow East (R)" style. Please mail it to hennie.vanrooyen@exxaro.com God only knows how many other styles I've also stuffed up in the process... I did not touch your distortion guitars on variation 4 of the style in question, yet I've now lost it altogether.

You should really reconsider this whole copy protection thing of yours... It aint cosher & for the first time since I've had my Audya I'm really p****d off! What's the use of any additions if I cannot back it up???

Regards,

Henni

Are you saying there is no way to modify and save some ajamsonic style while keeping the original intact? I've developed the habit with Ketron styles to always first save the style I modify to the user style area, then to registration. This way I avoid some needless frustrations I happened to experience before.

Yes my friend,

I should have done exactly that, but I did not. I was falsely under the impression that I had a sound & valid backup. Well, in this case I was WRONG!!!

Not any other add on style from Robert or Ketron suffers from this. I have backups of all & they save into registries, leaving the original style intact. I far prefer this method!!!

Keep well my friend,

Henni

Perhaps AJ would do better if he somehow finds another way to protect copyrights. Anyway, I enjoy listening to the songs you posted in some threads. keep the good work

Henni,

I will email you the style set once more.

If you make a modification to a style
1. SAVE the modification under a new Style name (maybe even just add a 1 to the end of the style name) so it saves in the HD as a new styles while leaving the original un-altered.

2. Get out of STYLE - VIEW to your default screen.

3, Set up the keyboard and pick that new/altered style.

4. Now save to a REGISTER.

When next you call up the REGISTER, it will call up the new/modified style. The original AJAMSONIC style will remaind un-altered and can be modified again to create another spin off.

Sorry for the extra step/pain Hennie, but your suggestion will be considered in our future updates!

AJ :-(

Tx AJ,

Just one last question: How do I back up your styles? I made a proper backup, but it did not backup any of your stuff.

What I'll do now is to first of all make a duplicate with a slightly different name for EACH of your styles, exactly as suggested.

Then I'll use these duplicates only & not even so much as touch any of your original styles in future. The risk is just too high without proper backups. It was only by accident that I noticed the missing part in this specific style, although I did not delete it myself. I am concerned about my other styles now, as I tweak and modify just about every single style before I save it to my new registry.

It really annoyed me because I did not know this & I was falsely under the impression that I had proper backups. I am software literate & it came as a a real shock to me, hence my rude tone of voice. Now that I know better, I'll adapt to the new situation. I updated the FAQ thread with this new information.

I stil think your stuff is amazing, it should only be handled different and the end user should be made aware of this by your upgrade installation description. I tamper a lot with all my styles, maybe others dont.

Thank you for your feedback. Keep well my friend,

Henni

Henni,

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion.

We will revise the manual to reflect this current status for now until when it is modified. The initial idea was/is to prevent AJAMSONIC data (sounds and styles) from working (or being copyed) into 'non' AJAMSONIC keyboards. We are now working on an idea to allow copying of styles and sounds (standard or modified) within AJAMSONIC keyboards only!

Right now, if you load an AJAMSONIC style/sound into a non AJAMSONIC keyboard, you get a *Currupt* message displayed ... or style sounds 'funny/out of tune' rendering it useless/un-usable.

Thanks,

AJ

Hi AJ,

Please don't forget to mail me those styles, or at the very least the "Slow East (R)" style.

I would very much like to make a second copy of all your styles, retaining the original ones. I've had to modify quite a few of your styles for my applications already, so I am far away from your original styles. I did this because they would not save to registries & because I was firmly under the false impression that I had a safe & sound backup of your original styles (which I did not have as they cannot be copied).

If my exxaro mail has problems receiving, please send instead to buildtofly@yahoo.com

Thank you so much my friend,

Henni

Done.

Sent to both as we were having issues with the previous one.

Thanks,

AJ

Hi AJ,

Thank you so much my friend. Prompt service as always!!!

Now that I know, I'll not mess up again. Starting right now, I'll make a backup of each original styles. Then I'll work with these renamed backups only.

Kind regards,

Henni
