How old is your unit? What upgrade do you have? Where did you purchase your unit from? Are you still under warantee with that dealer?

Contact me at ketron_tech@yahoo.com for further assistance.

Thanks,

AJ

Hi Roblek, the first thing you should do is this

If your instrument is under warranty then you should speak to your retailer/distributor before going any further.

If its out of warranty there is no reason why you shouldn't attempt repair - but as AJ says you have not provided enough information.

So when you say the hard drive sometimes does not work, can you give an example?

What happens when you start the Audya? Can you press the disk button and see the contents of drive?

audya start normaly. when press disk button i can see folders. when i press in folder do nothing. when i play the style 5 second play drums then 5 second nothing. I think the drive slowly read.

Have you tried connecting the Audya to your computer? If so try copying some data from the Audya to your PC. You can also run disk checks from your PC, but you must be careful to scan only, if you select repair errors your PC will move anything it believes to be corrupt into a 'found' folder and it will be of no use to anyone.

If it were my Audya I would remove the hard drive and place it into an IDE caddy, then do a complete back up (including hidden system folders and files) to my PC

You MUST make sure you can see the hidden files and system folder from your PC when backing up. If you cannot see the SYSTEM folder from of Audya hard drive you MUST NOT format the hard drive. It is vital you make these visible from windows control panel (win 7) or explorer -> tools (XP)

Also do not copy the entire hard drive in one go as you will probably get a windows "cyclic redundancy error", instead copy one folder at a time to your computer.

Once you have done that Run Disk Check from 'My Computer' check for bad sectors too.

formatting is a last resort.

Possible issues.
* No system folder (or incomplete - which could have been missed due to being hidden).
* Incomplete Audio Drums (some starting right at about 310 -> were later added by the 2010 USB Pen Drive update and some (older) were replaced/updated. If your back up was created before loading the 2010 USB upgrade (first USB pen Dive out), then you are missing these files.
* Are the files you are trying to load back into this AUDYA originally taken/copied from THIS particular Audya?

Thanks,

AJ
