I was watching this very good KORG PA3x video which I really enjoyed until 3:03 of the solo guitar run where all of a sudden the player reverted back to playing the lead Guitar as if it was a KB using a "SLIDE Glissando" technic that a guitar player couldn't or wouldn't do surprised ...part of playing an arranger KB is to "actuate the instruments the way they would sound if they were really being played". This guy is a very good player, but what I stated above is a pet peeve of mine that I had to voice. The rest I enjoyed listening. headphone

I haven't gotten to check out the video yet but that sort thing bugs me to (though I have been guitly of doing the same) I think it bothers me even more to hear instruments played out of their normal range.

Paul,....IMO this is what makes playing an arranger KB all the more difficult, intriguing, exciting & fun.Your the composer of the arrangement let loose to create music any way you like. Learning how to play all the instruments used in your band/Orchestra in a song properly is a big part of a successful interpretation of your song.

So there you go Paul, now you know, I couldn't have put it better myself, even if I had tried. confused2

Guitar is so hard to emulate because there are so many different styles, and so many different guitar/amp combinations.

A gliss using a distortion guitar patch is a very amateur move (probably more like an unintended mistake) but for the most part, I thought he did pretty good.

He should listen to guitarists like Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd) for some relatively simple (but extremely effective) guitar phrasing, and give the notes some breathing room.

Also, the opening areggios. Most guitar players don't play keyboard style arpeggios.
