Oh yeah... I'm 57, the Ketchup Year! Still 16 from the neck upwards, anyway - the rest of me you don't want to know about..!

Got a houseful of musician friends coming over for a night of Indian food, healthy drinking, and all the sitar music you can stomach! Good times.

Thanks, all...

'Healthy drinking'? The ability to remember what you did the night before. drink

Not to be confused with a 'healthy' appetite! smoke

Happy Birthday Diki. Indian food and some drinks sounds perfect to me. Hope you have some Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosa and garlic naan there.

Hope you had a great birthday, despite the Indian food!

We didn't have the samosas, but you got the other two right! Along with about seven or eight other dishes, poppadum and a house full of hungry Americans! I am doing my best to start a craze here in the South...

I made enough to feed an army, and had virtually no leftovers at all! A great night of fun, feasting, and sitar music! (OK, I gave them a rest from the Ravi Shankar after a couple of hours!)

Getting older does NOT suck!

WAY TO GO! I bought a sitar a few years ago. Looks GREAT, but a little imposing!

In a perfect world, we could get together and you could show me some things!

Really glad you're around,

Russ

Yep, I didn't know she was Ravi Shankar's daughter until recently after he died.

I heard that when she first became 'popular' ... I have to believe that is what gave her the 'edge' in the music business ... her first CD was OK, but I could not see it winning the "Best Jazz Album" ...
Recently saw a video of her with Marion McPartland singing all 'Great American Standards' and was pretty impressed ...

Meanwhile, back to the topic ... glad you and your friends had a great time Diki ... enjoy every day ... we don't know how many we have ...

I was a fan from the first note - I called her Grammy sweep before the show aired. LOVE her. Rumor has it she never got along with her Dad. That would kill me, as a parent.
She's a simple, but elegant player, and SOOOOOO pretty. I listen to Marian McPartland's show whenever I can - she's AMAZING!
