It amazes me how every single thread that mentions Audya degenerates into these sad battles.

If you want to keep arrangers alive you need to support this kind of contribution from younger artists

The second style is from the Pa600 (Modern Beat) both recorded side by side on the Zoom R16 (separate tracks and faded in and out). Sorry no vocals didn't have time LOL

A touch of EQ on the Pa600 and to my ears albeit old ones there is not a great deal of difference.

Long live Korg £800 Vs £4500 rocker

Regards

Col

The PA600 sounds like an old skool TR606...cool. (although too much reverb)

And you honestly cant hear the difference between that and even a the low quality, highly compressed audio of the original track?

Hi TWD

It's not a battle just an observation and I did say my ears were old one's, I,ve had them 71 years. It will be interesting what other people think.

I've absolutely nothing against the Audya and have 'no doubt' that it's a fine board but I dont thick it would make my humble efforts sound that much better than my Korg. In anycase 50% the poeple I play for are asleep and the remainder are deaf.

Kindest Regards

Col

Its not just you Col, it happens almost everytime. Although in this case, perhaps Leezone was a little over enthusiastic with the thread title wink

The thing is, you don't see it the other way around. If someone posts a demo or recording of their Korg, owners of other keyboards do not jump on the thread and claim their arranger will do it better. I find it very strange.

As for the youtube video posted here - I enjoyed it a great deal, and its refreshing to see an arranger keyboard put to use this way instead of in a retirement home! Its a nice clean recording with great vocals.

I don't remember Ketron claiming that the Audya
Was THE Arranger for Reggae artists
It's meant to be versatile across many genres with a little of everything

I'd be curious to know how many Reggae styles are included in T4,
PA3x, G-70

Maybe one of those is THE ReggArranger?

Saswicks comparison was fair to my relatively young ears . There was not a huge difference in sound quality and minus vocals and guitar licks you might find it hard to tell which was which (in terms of sound quality ).

Hey, Col ... just like a jazz group playing 'fours' ... grin ...

To me, the problem arises when someone says something like "Why the Ketron AUDYA IS THE BEST... No Doubt..."
The BEST keyboard is the one that works BEST for YOU ... and as we have seen here many times, even THAT may be a fleeting sentiment ... but as long as YOU (and that means all of US) are happy playing what you have, so be it ...
Comparisons are great, but only to show differences, not to change peoples minds ...

What do you do with original track when i listen there is on track mobile effect? You can,t put effect on master track with vocals to kill only vocals, you kill all song do you hear that?
And your style is not reggae! So you can,t compare!!!

Here another video of the PA600. Was already post on this thread http://www.synthzone.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/361428/Pa600_demos#Post361428

Again who needs these audio drums. Not me.

And here a video of the even cheaper Roland BK 5.

Hey Lee...I have 13 Reggaes on my G70 smile..sure 12 of them are sourced from the flash memory...but still there at a push of a button...

I have always given Ketron credit for the best drums and bass...but I also find Roland a close second...and given the superior stage friendliness of the G70...I choose (and chose)..to use the G70 live..

And when you compare the editing of the Audya and G70...maybe it is my choice (g70)..in the studio too. grin
