I play the Audya and my wife is singing and use a Shure SM58 with cable, best choice we think, now she want´s a wireless sm58 with a PGX24E reciver, is there any differance on the sound with cable and without

if i could suggest this mike instead,



it has a much warmer sound
and has a larger frequency response,
and better noise rejection
better gain before feedback
only an extra $29
i've compared it to the SM58 and there's no comparison
and they do make a wireless version of it too.

google it and read reviews, and go try one out at music store...

Totally agree with Leezone ... I used the SM58 for decades and found that I get a much better soumd with this particular EV ... it comes in a wireless version, about $400 US.

I´m shure you right about your decision of EV, I know that EV are good stuff since I recently bought EV live x 2x12" and 2x18" and this is a very good system, but for microphone i´m gonna stick to Shure so Please give me your oppinion about differance between cable and wireless SM58

I think you're making mistake in getting the Shure but the decision is yours
The EV is way better
It doesn't hurt to goto store and try it out

If you like Shure. You should definitively step up to the Beta 58
It's a lot better than the regular SM58

I have to agree with Leezone.

I had used SM58 for years for my vocals until I decided to try the 58A Beta. It retains the familiar warmth of the former, but has more presence. It is my go to mic eventhough I have 5 others.

If you compare 2 identical mics/systems - one wired and the other wireless:-
The wired system is best when you want minimum interference AND you are trying to replicate and maintain (as much as possible) the actual signal coming in (your voice), with an average budget.

Wireless systems tend to not do well with lower frequencies unless you get into the $2000.00+ systems like the Shure UR4D with KSM9 mics or SABINE's SW72*** series where special circuitry is incorporated to 'make up' for this loss.

You can really experience this IF you go to the store and try them out side by side... then you will know what is 'missing' when you decide to go wireless.

Another brand that does a good job to rectify this in their wireless systems (for way less $$) is Sennheiser. Sure Shure do make great wired mics, but when going wireless, it may help to explore others ... especially since it's not all mic manufacturers who design and/or build their wireless systems - on which the quality of these great mics depends on ... eventually.

I agree.

My wireless systems are Sennheiser. One is EV100 headset and the other is handheld. Both are in the $500-600 range. Excellent quality, range, and reception.
