I was thinking the same thing leezone smile

Last year ketron previewed their current projects (but did not release them).

They are:
GP1 - portable Grand piano
SD1000 - new sound module
MidJay Pro - new version midjay with touch screen

I am very excited about the Piano.

I hope that this SD1000 will be a scaled down version of the Audya 4, meaning that it will keep all the beautiful audio styles but not the left and right hand voices. This way it would be the perfect instrument for someone (like me) who already has one or more keyboards and cannot see a reason to pay almost 3000 euros for something that he will use at 50% of its possibilities.

Good to see you Dreamer ... hope all is well.
I agree with you about the Audya 4 having some unneeded features. I stayed with the Midjay Plus (and the SD1Plus) and I am looking forward to the Midjay Pro.
Ciao,
Jerry

Maybe they are having software problems, just like happened with the Audya, that had to reach version 4.0 to gain (finally) some stability and reliability (but there are still problems like the corrupted files...)

I think the sd1000 will be to the midjaypro, what the sd2 is to the midjay plus. Same sounds same percussion loops, no styles, but the raw ingredients are there.

I was told the drums and sounds are 90% new. Ten percent coming from the Audya. The way I was explained it, the drums will be audio, not audio streaming like on the audya. The sd1000 is similar to the sd2 in what the sd2 does in relation to the midjay plus.

Hello Angel1000, Are you speaking of the SD1000 only or both the SD1000 and Midjay Pro?

I am speaking about the sd1000. My understanding is whatever will be found in the sd1000 will also be found in the midjaypro.

So if they have upgraded the SD sound engine we could see it in a new MOTL keyboard/module.....I'll just be losing sleep until 4/10 now rolleyes

just my opinion, interesting topic, I don't think you'll see a new motl keyboard from ketron anytime soon. My reasoning, the high end is the Audya, it has to hit a different market than say a midjay or a sd2.Ketron had to get into the low end market to rationalize their costs and sell in volume. It would be intersting to see if they sold more sd2 than audya's. My money is on the sd2. I think the middle is going to stay empty.

I in no way profess to know everything, correct me if I am wrong,Ketron used to introduce flagship trickle down to module etc. It seems the opposite is happening now. There is very little electronics between audya and the rest. One day you might get full audya trickled down to an sd100, only when a new flagship comes out, and the audya is old news.

For me the best (without being surreal) that KETRON would create for the acutal series Audya is:
- New version of StyleCompiler (with automatic association of UserAudioDrums). *PROFISSIONAL METHOD*
- Functionality to use MSP to INSDrumKit. *USERS REQUEST*
- New Software "LiveGuitarCompiler" (obvious to compile userliveguitars). *UNIQUE FEATURE*

Articulations known as VCE-2 (with way more control by you) and new rich voices have already been introduced with the AJAMSONIC upgrade package. The articulation is done either automatically, pressing harder on keys, holding down notes for a short/long period of time, going from one note to another quickly/slowly ...a combination of some or all the above ... etc. ...pretty much, by using your expression rather than buttons to activate the articulation. The AJAMSONIC package also offers a whole host of new styles, fixes and features.

Check out www.Ajamsonic.com for some demos.

Thanks,

AJ

I had a T4 and trade for the Audya5,the only sound I like in the T4 is the nylon guitar and brass.
But my Audya is the last one it is the best
I am thinking for Ajamsonic to complete my Audya5 very seriously

You guys are all talking as if they are introducing a new Audya. The products for sure at Musikmesse are the sd1000 and the midjaypro. Nothing on the horizon, from what my sources have told me, for the Audya. Has everyone seen the demo of the sd1000. What do you think?

hbinfo2001,

You may want to listen to some of the new Nylon Guitars in some of the demos at www.Ajamsonic.com.

Hi Leezone, you have me interested, what is a "cheap" audya, in terms of general specs.

Hi angel1000, this is all 'pie in the sky'. - There are not even rumours of a new keyboard instrument (other than the GP1) - saying that Ketron have got very good at keeping secrets in the last couple of years.

Hi Leezone, I am not a keyboard player, a percussionist and singer by trade. As an example with the software varranger an sd2 does exactly what an sd5 does. In terms of styles its all the same. From what I was told by someone working for ketron, the sd1000 or midjay will be that instrument. An improved machine, and I would hopefully imagine that one will be able to play the midjay styles through an sd1000 with the proper software. The only thing is you'll have to have a separate controller as the keyboard. the new machine will be closer to the audya, but no keyboard for now.

I just had confirmation that the new Stage Piano (GP1) and the SD1000 will be ready to ship in the next couple of weeks.

Also the SD series is being updated (see other thread)

As was stated sd1000 next week, midjaypro no date yet. As I understand, it will not be introduced to market same time as the sd1000.
