I had a Midjay (the first version that came out) and it had internal styles and could read all those from the SD1, X1, etc. It red chord changes, but not complex ones (like rootless chords or chords like min7b5, but this was a shortcoming of the SD1 as well). I hope that the Midjay Pro can read chords the same way as the Audya does and -above all- that it has real audio drums inside (maybe not the audio guitars because I am afraid that this would rise the price too much and, moreover, nobody would buy an Audya 4 anymore). I would be happy just with the drums.

i was under inpression the midjays were NOT arrangers, that they were more like band in a box, where you predefine your chords in advance, thought midjay was more a mp3, karaoke, midi, player with LIMITED arranger capabilities...
so the only real advantage of Audya is the live guitars i guess? as it seems this new midjay has audio drums....
AJ, maybe you can elaborate? As already mentioned, Midjays have always had arranger capabilities, you just need a midi controller, wether this is a keyboard, guitar or accordion. The limit is only in the user interface. For example, on a midjay you can select and play a style just as you can with your audya. But...there are no buttons to quickly select a stye, intro 1, 2, 3, ending 1, 2, 3 arranger a, b, c, d breaks etc. on previous midjays you had to scroll through a list of styles or sounds - no quick selection buttons. and so on. But..the new MidJay Pro has a colour touch screen so perhaps it will be easier to use in real time. We will have to wait and see.

ok so midjay doesnt have all the buttons, fills, intro, end, break,
BUT i assume you can map these functions to your controller, to the pads and buttons
with my Audya4 now, i don't ever touch A4, except to change style, ,
i start, stop, intro, change var, speed up, slow down, end, change sounds, all from my AKAI controller
i guess you can do this with midjay too?
my question now what else does the midjay lack when comparing to Audya 4?
what are the MAIN differences? what do i give up with midijay pro? audio guitars? anything else?
