I've been working for a couple of days updating my web page.
There are different songs and links to some videos on there now.
Let me know what you think. I can take it!

I liked the videos. I think you look good in a hat! I liked the Korg and the vocal effects/harmony were fantastic! I do miss your Audya though... Anyways, for some reason I couldn't get "Fly Me To The Moon" to open and when I tried to watch " You Were Always On My Mind" I got "Stand By Me" instead.

I admire you guys that put up videos- I hope to learn how to do that someday. The sooner the better because I'm not getting any prettier smile

Thanks for sharing and I wish you the best of luck ( not that you need it)

Thanks Paul,
Actually Fly Me has not quite finished loading.
Thanks for letting me know about the wrong link. I just fixed it, so Always On My Mind should load now.
These are my first uploads to Youtube so I'm learning as well.
All the videos are in a folder on my site also. Here: http://donmasonmusic.com/Videos/

Hate the hat, jealous of the amount of hair Don has, his wife hates the hat too! wink The website looks good, nice and clean, easy to navigate - they way a website should be.

Hi Don. I thought the songs were really well done and the website looks fine. The only criticism I might give and i hope you take it in the right way is to use the harmoniser less. This is because as you tend to slur your notes up to the correct pitch as a style of singing , the harmoniser tries to force the right pitch immediately and it sounds exaggeratedly off key . the harmoniser not your voice .So less is more. Otherwise it was a great job

The website if very good, and good to see a younger you too, but you lost the beard, how come he he? Anyway, how about adding your history , just a little more and your stage setups - that's current one and the past ones? Gives aspiring musicians/ entertainers some insight to where you got your "grit" so to speak, what do you think?

Don, I was just wondering if you ever use the CS on your Korg. It seems like a great feature for someone like you that does a lot pitch bending... I'm getting quite interested in the Rolnad and also the Korgs for the CS.

Sweet ol' country, my man! I'm inspired to dig out an old Jerry Lee Lewis tune, What Made Milwaukee Famous, I used to do long ago and give it another round. Is that one in your lists, Don? I'd love to hear you on that one.

Sure, doesn't everybody do it? smile
Russ, you had me totally turned on. Then I remember what you look like!
Paul, I use the CS a little, but not much. It is a great tool though.
I think you would like the PA3X.

I agree with Don never had much use for the CS either for my needs on my KORG PA3x but to each his own.....not everyone uses all the features afforded to them.. keys

Thanks Spalding, videos are very revealing! I generally don't overuse the harmonizer, but I agree I did on some of these. Also, the harmony voice was a tad louder than I thought it was at the time.
Also, some of my lead voices were too loud in relation to the accompaniment.

Hi Allan,
I have too much Native American in me to grow a beard. I remember it took months before it looked half way decent. I did it one other time but it would be all white now.
As to the stage setup, the one in the video isn't really what I use most of the time. I use an A-frame stand with two tiers. The top tier has laptop, mixer, recorder and plug strip. I leave them all in a case, and take the cover off and set the case on the tier. I used the simple stand in the video so people could see my hands better.
The bottom tier has the keyboard on it.
I have another setup with a contraption that Gary D. made for me, and it also has a place to leave everything in it. Both these have my name on the front with lights on it.
The top photo on the Photo page on my site has a similar setup, when I was using Audya.
The "old" setup from the early 80's was a full size organ, compete with Leslie, and huge Peavey PA. My gear at that time barely fit in a full-sized Chevy Van, and it took two people to load and unload.

Women fans still ask me to autograph their boobs, but it's getting harder to bend over that far to reach them (LOL)! Plus Sharpies don't work that well on all those wrinkles.

Don, you beat me to the punch. Donny doesn't golf, and I know he doesn't go fishing. I no longer play golf, and I can't afford golf and sailing on the same budget. I've been inviting DNJ to come down and go sailing for a couple years now, but he's stuck in New Jersey. Donny, you've gotta get out more.

I'm taking my 5-year-old grandson fishing next week at a local farm pond, the same farm pond I took my daughter when she was about the same age. There are bluegills measuring up to 12 inches long, and somewhere in my archives I have a photo of her with one nearly that size. She was catching them as fast as the line hit the water, casting a small streamer fly with a fly rod.

She created many web pages for some small, local companies in our area and she's really good at it. I showed her your page and she loves it. She also thinks you're a great player and singer and would love to see you perform live at one of the clubs. I told her you're an old fart and you would never come to this part of the world. wink

Dang, those are AWESOME! Best you've ever put up. I listed to Can't You See, Don't Worry Bout Me and That's Alright. Just terrific one-man-band-ness, your hineyness! That's the way to sing.

Bill, I think you picked 2 Audya songs and one Bk7m. All the rest are Korg.

** My harmonizer has always scooped with me as I choose. The TC units in the Korg (and standalone) can follow any slides, and very well. Less is less in the hands of a harmony fanatic, like myself. I'm after that 4 Freshman/Manhattan Transfer sound ... not the Everyly Brothers.(Well, not always, anyway!)
