Amazingly, I once wrote for 25 publications, including the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, York Dispatch, all of which no longer have an outdoor column, which was my specialty. Back then I was elated to be able to send my columns directly to the newspaper's main frame computer using a similar telephone hookup, transmitting at the screaming pace of 300 baud, which was about the same speed I could type. I wrote my last column for Ira Black's Noreaster Magazine about three years ago. Sure glad I can sing and play an arranger. Otherwise I would be on the government dole. wink

Cheers,

Gary cool

Yes sir. I hear you Gary. I've worked as a proofreader on some majors up here in Canada and, had it not been my good fortune to be able to play, I would have ended up in the same boat (sorry 'bout the pun) as yourself.
