I have been a fan of Sade's moody but melodic music even since I heard her first recording of Smooth Operator. So I wrote this in a similar style. Using my Motif XF I created a backing using a Jazz Drum Kit, Dark Bass and Classical Guitar all with appropriately selected Arps for the two variations I needed. I also used a GM Voice from the Motif- Crystal- for one lead and the Breathy Tenor Sax SA2, Jazz Trumpet SA2 and Live Strings from the Tyros 3 as other leads. Finally I selected a Chorus DX on the Tyros 3 for my left hand chords. Writing the work came relatively quickly but it took quite a while to get the balance, mix, effects (proper Reverb) for each part. I can say the Motif makes it easy but because there are so many different Arps and effects to choose from it just takes a while deciding from the wealth of choices. Hope you enjoy it. Lost In You

Very cool. I'd order a Martini if I drank Martini's. Good work

montunoman:
I played in a group for many years ( about 25 ) playing lead Tenor Sax. Haven't played at an event for quite a while. I switched to keyboards in 2008. Got tired of just playing Sax by myself or with recordings as backing. Always wanted to play piano and the Tyros and especially the Motif have been a real awakening for my creative side. I cannot sit down and play without finding new progressions and melodies. I thought I'd be happy to just play any song I liked but now composing has become my priority. When I record I play directly to a digital recorder, no multi-tracking, so I need to really practice my own works. Once in a while I can record in 1 or 2 takes but mostly it's double digits. I am working to become a better and more consistent player as well as as a better composer.
