I am playing a three hour gig for the annual Thanksgiving Banquet at our local cultural center. I am bringing the wife and we will eat there.

We know many people there, and it is always a good time.

Ours has gone by, so it's just another day here in paradise.

Two of us share a 10 hour gig at a local country club. I'll work from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM.; then go home for dinner. I'll go back at 8:00 till 11:00. then, it's a 15 minute drive to a local hotel, where I'll do 11:00 to 3:00 Am.

Got several requests to play in different locations with different groups, but need to take care of my "regulars".

I may go over to the pond and gig some frogs. Froglegs should go good when one is tired of leftover Turkey.
I turned down jobs for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
Also my NY's eve job has been cancelled. Have music, will travel!

I take that day off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off I figure I play all other days. And in December I will do 43 shows as of now so a day off is welcome for family football and turkey.

Yeah, I know. Every year I tell myself that I'm gonna slow down in December. This year, for the first time in two decades, I'm not booked every day of the month - I have five days off, and NO doubles - YEA! As usual, though, I have a job Christmas Day. Some people ask me why I work on Christmas Day? The reason is quite simple, I can bring some joy to the lives of people who have outlived their friends and relatives and would normally not be having much of a Christmas. We have lots of fun, they song along with most of the Christmas songs, and it's only a couple hours out of my day, but those few hours mean a lot to them and I'm happy to be with them on Christmas, albeit for a very brief time.

Cheers,

Gary cool
