Ok, I actually never left, but simply got involved with other projects that kept me from remaining an active sz poster.
That said, I've remained an occasional lurker.
Though I suffered from trigger finger a year ago, following surgery,I recovered fully in 3 weeks and and was back gigging again soon after that.
A year after surgery, I continue to have full range of (left thumb) movement, experience no pain or any sign of a scarring.
For much of 2013, I took a break from arranger keyboards to pursue other interests, but now with the excitement of Tyros5,
I'm back with renewed enthusiasm & excitement, as I pre-ordered a 61 note Tyros 5 from Frankie @
AudioWorksCT.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed mine will be included in his first batch of pre-ordered Tyros5's received from Yamaha. I've already sold my Tyros4 so hope to receive my Tyros5 in time for my upcoming holiday gigs.
Though I still got my Korg MicroArranger as a backup, its no comparison to Tyros 5 or 4.
The Tyros5 features I'm most excited about are the 40 new styles that incorporate +audio drum loops, as well as the even more improved "natural" realism of instrument voices (esp strings & horns) and the impressive punch the new DSPs, all of which is easily heard by me in the Tyros5 demos. To my ears, Tyros 5 is a very worthy upgrade from Tyros 4. I'll let you know if I still feel this way after I receive mine.
