I love that Songbook feature ... but 13 years ago my technics kn6000 did all that on an on-board hard drive ... but I digress ... sorry ...

Is there a playlist feature on the T5? I'd like to put sets together (non-alphabetical but in performance order) for different shows. The BK-9 will do this... as does the PA3x in the song book.

I'll do 10-16 songs in a show...

It would be great to have a "Show Order" feature. Like a registration where you can chain everything you need for a performance....
Voice selection
WAV file
Plays right into a mp3 and brings up a layered voice you need with a text file
When song is over... It changes to a text file (lead sheet) with a piano sound
SMF
SMF
WAV with the 3 different sounds you will use in the song
mp3 with text and sounds
Style

Etc.

Donny this one has always mystified me!! eek With Yamaha's resources makes you wonder why they couldn't mimic the Songbook feature on Korg with software. I wouldn't think it would be all that difficult for them to implement..............but maybe there is a patent on it that Korg holds?

Steve it's a feature Yamaha should REALLY get their act together and TOTALLY REDESIGN the ancient MFD listening to their customers and really take a lesson from the KORG "SONGBOOK" .....aside from a display the rest of the MFD workings for me on stage is just USELESS. Too small too limited, wont save reg, transpose, playlist, etc etc ..

Software isn't gonna cut it at this point,....it needs to be enlarged & technicly redesigned from top to bottom

They can re-code the on-board software into anything they want, (Make the MFD completely new if they want) however most manufactures these days seem to be leaning toward Tablet Apps for adding the bells and whistles.

To answer the initial question, no one knows yet. No one has one at this time, at least not on this forum.

Well Gary we do know a few things so far by look alone,...
the display hasn't changed in size,....and by looking at the display info reg, sounds, etc, in the videos demos, it looks exactly the same as previous,....but to be fair we must wait for more info from owners or videos, etc, to be sure if anything internally in teh MFD program had been redesigned.

To me, the new Tyros display is more than adequate in size, and there has been a change in the overall viewing quality since the T2. Yamaha has changed to a new HD display, which is far brighter and much easier to see in bright light situations. I haven't had an outdoor job with the S-950 yet, but I hope the display is daylight viewable - sure would be nice. If the display is supertwist, then it will be sunlight viewable, which would be fantastic. I doubt that, though.

Gary IMO it needs to be at least a FULL 10" at least viewing area and tilt-able even on the S models.....but the songbook elements incorporated by KORG is imperative for success.
