Hi guys. I just got my ham radio lisence. My call sign is KC3BSH. It's a technician class lisence. For me this is a bucket list thing, something I've wanted to do since I was a teenager. Now I not only get to buy music gear, but ham gear as well. I'm really exiced about this!

Thats great Joe that you have other interests outside of music. I don't and sometimes wish I did.

Joe,
I've been KB5FA(Advanced) for nearly 20 years. My wife is WD5IAO. Have not been on the air for 10 years. Way to go!! There once was a great 2-meter band that served local communities which really was a considerable upgrade from Citizens Band Radio - because it was highly regulated. You not only could talk on it but could make FREE phone calls with it. Don't know if it exists today or not. I had a lot of fun running CW in my car. Strapped a key to my leg and used it that way. Folks were always amazed when I signed off CW Mobile. Also did a lot of storm chasing for the radio stations back then- talk about fun!!

Joe,
Congratulations!
I am KC9CDT (Extra class) for years now...it will be fun...BUT more fun when you get at least general class so you can have priviledges over many bands with voice, CW and digital.
Just last week end I worked over 55 different countries!
Great fun...I run mostly vintage equipment and run 15oo watts to a multi-band beam antenna at 70 feet.
73,
Lee

Wow! Now I know I'm really old - My General Class license was W3JQL back in 1952. Unfortunately, after I got out of the Navy in 1960 I didn't bother to renew it, which was required at the time.

Tony,
That's CB lingo - would never fly on the Ham bands - at least when I
was active.
