What a find Tony, I cut my teeth on Skiffle, sixteen years old straight from school, tea chest bass, washboard drums, acoustic guitars, happy days. Gambling Man Sweet Sixteen Worried man Rock Island Line Freight Train John Henry My old Man's a dustman Does your chewing gum lose it's flavour on the bedpost overnight Great Grand Coulee Dam The list went on. They don't write them like that anymore. I think I can still remember the word's, can't remember much else though. We used to play the interval at the local village hop, wait for it, half a crown each for half an hour, for the youngsters that's twelve and a half pence in new money. Thanks' for the memories LOL Here's another memory, Casino Blackpool we hit the fairly big time for country lads. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lfsA7l7RQ4Only two of us left I'm afraid. The video was in memory of Mel the Bass player. Col

Great stuff, Col. Wasn't that just the best of times, Britain in the sixties. I tell you, if we ever had to live this life over . . .
We used to play in those huge old cinemas in London between the movies - Shepherd's Bush Odeon, Holloway Odeon, the State, Kilburn. Fantastic times.
Here's a you tube clip of what were up to in 1965.

Oh for a time machine. 124 I agree will all you say but that song was like a lot at the time very repetitive, BE MY GUEST sung about a hundred times, get to you after a bit a bit a bit a bit.. Holloway Rd and Joe Meek, wonder what he would make of all the new stuff, he would have been part of it, sad loss blew his head off with a shotgun, he was part of all this stuff. Regards Tony

I've been watching that clip for 48 years, well, not continuously you understand , but I've yet to spot either of them. And I was there. BTW, my keyboard there was a Watkins 'Telstar'. Oops, sorry Howard , there was a bit of misunderstanding here: I meant the other video (the one with Lonnie Donegan in a yellow jacket). Happy New Year (only four hours to go here in Rome...)
