Greetings to all of my Synthzone friends and acquaintances.

Back when I was a wee lad of about four years of age my mom brought home a record called "The Stonemans' Country". Apparently I fell in love with this record (I don't really remember), and made whichever adult was around play it for me again and again - and - again . . . crazy "Bottle of Wine" was one of my favourite cuts off the record, and was also the first song I ever remember singing. I drove everyone crazy with that , too! wink

The song uses a style called CountryStrum, two different types of vocal harmony and the clarinet part was played on my EWIUSB MIDI wind controller with a VST called WIVI Band. The song was done on my trusty PSR-3000 and multitracked with a DAW package called Reaper. Enough boring minutia. sleep I present to you my version of "Bottle of Wine". I hope you will have a listen. smile

P.S. My apologies to fans of the Tom Paxton or Fireballs version. The Stoneman's version is a little different in that a couple chords are different, and most notably the lyrics are different. I went with The Stonemans' version mainly because I was four at the time. laugh

Thanks for listening,
Dan

Outstanding rendition, Dan. I don't remember this one from way back when, but I sure like the way you put it together. Almost sounds like a good old Irish drinking song. Perfect style for the song as well, and thanks for providing the forum with the technical aspects of the song.

Very nice Dan. Gary is a little too young to remember it, but I do.

Excellent work, Dan. I remember this song very well as we played it in one of the bands I worked with back then. It was a popular song and always filled the dance floor.

Great job on the arrangement...nice key change and the EWI work is terrific.

Nice job, Dan ... thank you ...

The sax player in the band I heard on New Year's Eve played an EWI ... he did a nice job with it ... interesting instrument ...

Dan,

Yeah - always a good listen from you - you must be holed up in the cellar again - you always do your best stuff in the Winter. ;-)

I tried a wind controller for a while, but it sucked - no I sucked.

Hi everyone!

Thanks to all who have given my song a listen, and a special thanks to those of you who left a comment. Your feedback and comments are much appreciated.

Ian - I will take credit for the arrangement, but I stole the key change idea from The Stoneman Family. Their key change was more interesting because they had this funky upright bass riff to take them to the new key. Great stuff!

Bill - I do my best work in the winter mainly because it's too cold to do much else. laugh BTW, Diki is right. You need to generate wind, not vacuum, in order to make a wind controller work.

Thanks for listening,
Dan
