That's the perfect way to use the Chord Sequencer...

You sing the song first verse and chorus while the CS tracks the chords. I usually play piano during this, with full chord recognition and BassInv on, I now have everything I need in the CS to solo my brains out, two handed.

BTW, one feature I've yet to see on arrangers that would be way cool is, if you pick say a piano to play, the arranger automatically mutes the style piano Part. Ditto for horns, organs, whatever.

Generally, YOU play it, you don't need the arranger playing it too! But you never know what sound you feel like using, if you are just improvising, so you can't set the arranger's Part Mute up for it. Different sounds need different tracks muted.

An automatic parameter to do this would be awesome!

Now, that would be a neat feature, Diki.

I set up quite a few of my styles (especially jazz ballads) so that one variation (usually C) will have the piano parts played with two hands so when I solo over it with some sort of lead voice, it sounds a little more realistic.

I generally don't concern myself too much with shutting off a guitar part while using a guitar as solo instrument, because I'm generally using a different type of guitar, and quite often bands have more than one guitarist...two piano players not so much.

The volume pedal set to control only the Right Hand voices is a very useful tool, especially if you are comping behind a singer.

I have a work around on the G70, but it doesn't work on the BK-9.

In the arranger Mixer, there's an icon that shows what each Part is playing. And all you have to do is touch that icon, and it mutes the Part. So, it's fairly easy to see if there's an acoustic piano, sax, organ, whatever in the style, then when I select a Tone that I can see there's an style part for, presto! Mute the sucker!

BK-9 doesn't have the icons, so I generally don't know what each arranger Part is playing.

But it would be amazing if the darn arranger would do it for you!

Diki, I'm almost certain I remember having an arranger that did that. Maybe either a Technics or Ketron. Maybe I dreamed it but I don't think so!
