The world love's a tryer LOL

Before you comment on the sax player pausing for breath he's using the circular breathing technique.

Col,
One of my very best college friends was a Tuba player who played all the Strauss horn concertos on the Tuba. He later was the first chair Tuba player in the Washinngon DC Air force Band for 20 years before he retired. We use to laugh at him leaning how to breath though his nose while playing long passages. It was the first time I had ever seen it done for real. His name is Joe Lewis from Corpus Christi, TX. Lost track of him through the years.

Hello, Col.

Your lovely performance took me back to my childhood. My mother made sure we listened to both kinds of music when we were young - country and western.

I knew a sax player who could circular breath, but it's a skill I never developed myself. People are usually happy when I stop to take a breath while playing the sax, and they're the happiest when I stop altogether. laugh

Thanks for the music,
Dan

Don, Deane, Tony, Dan and Donny thanks Guy's for the comment's.

Donny: I'm with you 100% about different versions of particular song's it would be very interesting to hear the different takes. If I remember rightly didn't there used to be something similar a few years ago ?

Come on Guy's don't be shy. singer keys

I really like Ray Charles's version but I tried to bring in the Sax for a change. I think the "BlowAltoVib" on the G70 has a nice sweet sound but with some bite if needed.

What next I wonder?

Around here we call it the puppy dog song. "I Can't Stop Loving You". Non-farm boys won't understand.

"Careful what you wish for !!!"

Today I finally got away from S-Z and doing some other 'stuff' and tried the on-board recorder for the first time ... still got a lot to learn through experimentation, but here it is ...

Tony,

In the UK Way To Go means, you have a lot to learn or what you have just done is not very good, Way To Go in USA is different.

Sounds good to me Tony. Early in the song, it seems like you may be "holding back" on your vocals a little. I was trying to find something wrong, but other than a quick glitch or two that we all do recording live, I didn't hear anything wrong.
I'll try to find a recording of myself doing it. It's interesting to hear the different versions.

Hi Tony

For me just a touch fast but the main thing is your vocal range I felt you would be a lot more comfortable in Bb rather than C.

Regarding Don's comment about backing off, I'm afraid I tend to do that when recording and I bottled out on the top note in my version which was in Bb LOL

All the best

Col ... exactly right about the key ... I used to sing the song in 'C' a number of years ago, so I automatically started it in that key ... then I tried to 'cheat' by playing it in 'C' and using the 'Transpose' - I KNOW, the song is simple enough I should have just played it in Bb crazy - but the "Transpose" must be set for the entire KB including the mic, because my voice REALLY sounded bad ... so due to time constraints (I wanted to get this posted - don't know why the rush ?!? confused1 ) I just let it go as is ...
As I said, this was the first use of the mic/VH and I wanted to see about the 'mix'

I guess I should fully expect a "Way to go" from TH ... laugh2

Tony, you did pretty good for a Yankee. Sounds like you were trying to sing near the top of your range, though. Try doing it again a couple half steps lower see if it easier to sing.

Good rendition,

I might have used the LH organ sound (or is that a style Part?) only in certain sections. It tends to get a bit same-y used for the whole song...

Nice demo...
