No Matter How Good A Piano, It Alway Sounds Pitiful ThroughPowered 2 Way Monitors. Do The New 3 Way Line Array Make It Sound Like HeadphonEs Bygiving It More Full Spectrum?

Headphones will give you a false sense of sound versus an open air speaker system......plus you have to tink of what that piano will sound like IN A MIX also...Your gonna have to go to the store and bring your KB & play thru different systems to get your answer at performance volumes,...do not listen to anyone here..
only your own ears will give you what you need
sound-wise..hopefully your talking Line Array system in stereo also. Good Luck.

It's possible Jim. However, I've never found a default, onboard piano voice, regardless of the keyboard brand, that had the depth and quality I wanted. That's why I spent several days creating a special, mono piano voice using my old PSR-3000. That voice is being used all over the world now, and not just by PSR users, but a lot of Tyros guys are using it as well. Unfortunately, it will only work with Yamaha arranger keyboards. Now, it is a MONO voice, therefore, the problems associated with non-stereo systems, such as the Bose L1 series, are no longer a problem. Some guys tell me it sounds more like a Steinway than a Yamaha grand piano. I think it's kinda a mix of the two.

Cheers,

Gary cool

Donny, the rig is still in the van. However, here's a link to the voice, and you can A/B it on your keyboard. Grand Piano

Donny, it really doesn't make a difference whether you play in stereo or not - it's a mono voice so it comes out both sides equally.

I just fired up the Nanos again. I was amazed how good they sound - wow! I have eq'd all my gig (concert, to you Donny :)) songs by way of the Yamaha HS7s. They turned out pretty close on the Nano and the floor bass (sub) really makes it fill out.

Question on you Nano gig users (past and present): How big a group will these handle before falling short, power/coverage wise? It appears many here have given them up for live play. I was thinking of moving to the Stagepas series.

I really rather have a crystal clean PA and willing to give up my HS7s in partial payment.

Zuki ....thats why I got rid of the Nanos (2) they are ok & sound terriffic in smaller jobs, for 100-125pp, they even started to distort at high volumes a few times.........
but I needed much more power for my big venues...
and the bigger more powerful HK systems although great are just too expensive.

take a look at the Yamaha DXR series 15, 12, 10, 10's speakers crystal clear pure power awseome!! I got them from Frank at Audioworks and never looked back....I have the 12's & 10's wow!
