Regarding a stand or holder for either a laptop or a tablet. Like others here I have used music stands, specialized holders, and anything else that looked efficient.

I now use an iPad Air with The GigEasy Universal holder which is built for a mic stand. What I am going to do is visit a welding shop and see if that can custom fit a metal holder which can be attached to my X-stand and will allow me to position the iPad in the center of the keyboard. Hopefully it could be made of aluminum for lightness and be really easy to attach to and remove from the X-stand. So far I have not found anything like I want.
