First off, I think my Tyros 4 is a wonderful keyboard; ditto for the S950...both are super keyboards.
That said: I may have the option to trade the Tyros 4 and S950 for a new Tyros 5.
The reason for the trade is that I would have a new keyboard to spend the winter working on. Also, my S950 has been gathering dust since I got my Tyros.
I know there are Tyros 5 issues but I'm into technology and not afraid of that part...look forward to new technologies.
Just curious, how many of you would make this trade?
What are your honest opinions of the Tyros 5?
Tx all for taking your time to respond.

Here's a total different take on it. Not sure where you live, but if you live in the USA call Frank at Audioworks (203) 876-1133 get his best price on the Tyros 5. Once you're satisfied with his price, then sell the S950 and the Tyros 4. I have the feeling that you will come ahead with a bit of cash profit. I use Craigslist to sell my arrangers when I want to upgrade to a newer model and usually get a good price, but I will admit I'm about a 55 minute ride from Boston where there's a huge potential market to sell to. If you live in a small town away from a big city, you may not have as good luck selling on Craigslist. I like Craigslist because I meet the buyers in person accept cash only and in a public location. I sold my T4 in the lobby of the bank building I worked in. There was power to let the buyer test drive and plenty of people walking in and out to ensure both the buyer and myself were protected from being scammed/ripped off. I have also met buyers in Dunkin Donuts, Panera Bread, the parts department of a large Toyota dealership and Uncle Tony's Pizza ( not our Tony Mads).
Of course another approach sell the s950 then try the or maybe the Korg PA900. Although I'm enjoying my T5, it was the 76 keys that sold me on moving up from the T4, had it not been for 76 keys I would have tayed with the T4. Good luck you have a few options.
I had considered this myself trading both of those for a T5 but I think I would have eventually regretted it. The S950 is an excellent keyboard and a perfect back up to the Tyros' especially if you don't want to lug the Tyros around. The s950 is very portable so no fuss involved setting it up the speakers, turn it on and you're away.

To quote T-Swift, regarding me and the s-950: "We are never, EVER, EVER, EVER .... " you know the rest. I will not play another Yamaha mid priced unit till they put pro feeling keys in them. Just can't do it.

"OUCH"
I hope your not talking about the lightning FAST keybed of the S950?
Well ok for now I am just settling with what I have doing well I would say using the SAME KB for 18 months WOW!!! a record for me .....because there is nothing else that tickles my fancy at this time....and that's sad.
You ARE in a positive, slump, of sorts. This is the longest I've seen you stick with anything. I'm scared.
My finger is on the trigger big time as we speak, ........ it's like being on a strict diet and then you see a box of a dozen Cannolis!!! Don't be surprised if you get a call in the middle of the night Jonesing for some kind of a trade in a dark parking lot!!

... not cannelloni which is pasta, but a delicious Italian dessert:
My 'quote' was a paraphrase of a line in the movie "The Godfather" ... Peter Clemenza - an associate of the Godfather, and another hit man, kill a rival of the Godfather ... after doing so, Clemenza says to the other hit man his most famous line in the movie: "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." which they had purchased before the hit ...
