Just added a new song that came about as a result of our internet collaboration. A one-hit wonder from the mid sixties which I recall had a great impact on me in those days. Bass and musette were done on the Korg PA800/900 and a special thanks to Carlo for his nice touch to the video.

regards,
John

Where Do You Go To My Lovely by Peter Sarstedt, about 1967 I think.

Nearly correct. 1969 to be precise.

Basic recording was guitar and vocals. Then Carlo added the bass which he plays on his PA900 and I added the musette in the background on my PA800 as well as another vocal track. As I had clean forgotten about the intro Carlo did this on his PA900.
So in actual fact you are hearing two different mussette sounds, not that you are bound to notice at first hearing.
The original video recording as with most of the songs that include visual with me , was done with my simple logitech webcam. The television set idea was Carlo's , don't ask me how he does it, I have not got a clue ! smirk

John

Beautifully done, John. I've always liked that tune. The accordion really suits it. Excellent production and clever use of the TV.

Was the mirror reflection in the background intentional?

Ian

Thanks Ian,

Nope the mirror has been there for ages and on the wall opposite are my two keyboards. Sitting on the keys of my two arranger keyboards not being an option you will have to do with seeing "all" of me so to speak...... smile
I am glad you mention the production side. I have always done my own editing etc. but I must admit that my musical buddy Carlo adds yet another dimension to things like mixing down tracks etc.etc. I am looking forward to another string of songs that we hope to put together in this way.

regards
John

Hi,

Time to add two more songs to my youtube page. The first one is once again a collaboration with my friend Carlo ( at some distance). In addition to my vocals and guitar playing he has added a fine bassline and panflute on his PA900. And the lovely video not to be forgotten....

The second song was actually recorded in 2012 using my Yamaha PSR750. It was a unique get together of my stepdaugher and me for only 15 minutes to record two songs as we had never done anything prior to this. I think she did a great job and not being a piano player at all I made sure I had ample practice before trying my hand at it.....

Regards,
John
